A short ferry ride brings you to a beautiful island steeped in history – the island of Korčula. A trip to these jewels of the Croatian coastline makes for a magical day where you will be awestruck by the region's natural beauty while having the chance to sip exquisite local wines. The Pelješac peninsula personifies the best of the Mediterranean – a spectacular coastline and wild interior, hidden coves and beaches, vineyards, oyster bays, historic towns and villages, delicious food, and great wines. A short ferry trip brings you to the magical island of Korčula and its fairy-tale like walled town. The walled city, birthplace of Marco Polo, was first mentioned in the 10th century and every pristine stone has its own special history. This tour offers two spectacular destinations in one day all combined with exceptional cuisines and fine wines, making for a perfect day trip from Dubrovnik. And as the Croatian saying goes “A day without wine is like a day without sunshine”.

Dubrovnik: Day Tour to Korčula

3. Dubrovnik: Day Tour to Korčula

On this tour, experience how the past and the present become one on the magnificent island of Korčula, which has been populated since prehistoric times. After departing from Dubrovnik, make your first stop in Ston a historic fortified town surrounded by the 2nd longest wall in the world, first mentioned in the 13th century. The town layout is famous for its herringbone pattern, which allows air to circulate through the streets, but protects the town from strong winds. Learn about how building outside the city walls was forbidden until the 18th-century. Next head to the Korcula Old Town to experience an ancient culture and admire views of the crystal clear sea and sunny beaches. Take a chance to see the Cathedral of St. Mark, probably the most important building in the Korcula Old Town. It is built in Gothic-Renaissance style, completed in the 15th-century in the place of another church from the 13th-century. Find out how the church was built by local masters and craftsman of stone masonry who were well known in the Renaissance and Baroque era. During the tour, you will have the chance to taste fresh oysters from the sea, and sample some of the finest local wines at a winery.

Fantastic experience. Boris is an excellent tour guide (and kayak coach). The tour is perfectly timed for catching the sunset with visits to three islands. Finished off perfectly with a delicious picnic of Canapés and local wine from Boris himself. Definitely recommend!
