Avik showed us around areas of Kolkata we'd never have otherwise gone which was great. We ried a couple of things we'd had before (but his choices were nicer than ours!), but mostly loads of delicious new things! Ended up very full and satisfied, and also travelled around on a variety of transports and even organised a taxi back to our hotel. Very informative, thank you so much!
We had a fantastic time on the tour. Avik was a friendly, knowledgeable and passionate guide. We tasted things we would never have tried on our own and learned a lot about Kolkata. We also loved the different methods of transportation

Meeting point
The meeting point is at the Exit Gate 4 of ‘Esplanade’ Metro Station. Your guide will meet you at the exit on the street level at SN Banerjee Road. It is easily accessed from most hotels in the city. Address: Esplanade Metro Gate - 4 (S.N.Banerjee Road), 1, SN Banerjee Road, New Market Area, Dharmatala, Taltala, Kolkata, West Bengal 700013, India. We recommend downloading the ‘Uber’ taxi app on your smartphone. You can safely input your desired location & the price is fixed. Taxi payment can be made with cash, or if you use Uber you can connect it to your credit/debit card. Please note that you do need internet data on your phone to access the Uber app abroad, either from wifi, your own coverage plan, or a local SIM card which can be bought from the airport or an international SIM app like ‘Airalo’. Public Transport: The “Esplanade” stop is on the Blue Line and the Green Line. Using the metro subway avoids traffic and any issues with taxi availability during busy periods.

Know before you go
- Due to limitations with street food vendors and their single item menus, vegetarians or lactose intolerances hace 2-3 less tastings (out of 15 total), as not every stop has these options.
- The tour operates come rain or shine, so bring an umbrella if rain looks likely.
- We cap our small group tours at a maximum of 8 guests for a more personable experience. Private groups of more than 8, please get in touch.
