What to Expect
At the start of the trip, your guide will pick you up at around 14:00 where you will be briefed about the trip. Travel by a private cab and chauffeur. Visit the Victoria Memorial and enjoy the beautiful marble building dedicated to the memory of Queen Victoria. The Memorial lies on the Maidan (grounds) by the bank of the Hooghly River.
Visit the Victoria Memorial, travel to St. Paul’s Cathedral Church that was built in 1847. It is said to be the largest cathedral in Kolkata and the first Episcopal Church in Asia. It was also the first cathedral built in the overseas territory of the British Empire. Then visit the church, Dakshineswar Kali Temple, that was founded in the middle of 19th century and is devoted to Goddess Kali. Enjoy a ferry ride to Belur Math, the headquarters of the Ramakrishna Math and Mission, founded by Swami Vivekananda, a chief disciple of Ramakrishna Paramahamsa. Learn more about Ramakrishna Mission and enjoy the architecture over there.
Visit the next destination Prinsep Ghat. Prinsep Ghat is a ghat built in 1841 during the British Raj, along the Kolkata bank of the Hooghly River in India. Take beautiful pictures of this ghat and enjoy the ice cream from a famous stall selling them for more than 40 years. At the end of your trip, enjoy a lovely Kolkata special dinner with your guide after which you'll get dropped off at your hotel with beautiful memories and experience.
