Take advanced scuba dive lessons in the tropical waters of Koh Samui on an Advanced Open Water Diver PADI 2-day course. It is a great way to get more dives under your belt, while continuing to learn under the supervision of PADI instructors.
What to Expect
This 2-day Advanced Open Water Diver Course in Koh Samui helps you increase your confidence and build your scuba skills. The course will expand and continue your diving knowledge and experience in the care of PADI instructors. It takes 2 days to complete and is limited to a group size of 4 people per 1 instructor. If you prefer, you can opt for a private instructor.

During your course, you will complete 2 core adventure dives - underwater navigation and deep diving - after receiving the necessary academic training. You will also select and complete 3 elective adventure dives in areas such as multilevel diving, drift diving, photography, underwater naturalist, boat diving, and search and recovery.

Day 1: Sail Rock
After a hotel pick-up at approximately 07:00-07:30, depending on your hotel, head for the pier where a VIP Speedboat will set sail for Sail Rock, one of the most interesting dive sites in Koh Samui.

Relax and prepare on the 40-minute journey. Once you arrive at Sail Rock, you will make 2 elective specialty dives, breaking for lunch and with time to relax.

Sail Rock is the most famous dive site in the Koh Samui archipelago. The rock pinnacle, shaped like an iceberg, emerges from a sandy bottom at 130 feet (40 meters) to tower above the ocean’s surface. Located 27 miles (45 kilometers) north of Koh Samui, it is mid-way between Koh Phangan and Koh Tao, and provides large schools of pelages, steep walls, rugged rock formations, and an awesome “vertical chimney” swim-through.

The-swim through starts from a depth of approximately 60 feet (18 meters) and exits at 20 feet (6 meters), where the natural light penetrating the top makes it fantastically picturesque.

Two divers can enter the cavern abreast, where it bends vertically upwards. You will spot a hole that opens up, and it is possible to swim back into open water from here. At the exit, just 20-foot from the surface, find yourself surrounded by a magnificent carpet of pink anemones full of vibrant anemone fish. Other known visitors include barracudas, king mackerels, and the occasional whale shark, as well as a wide variety of colorful reef fishes.

At the end of your dives, return to your hotel. You should be back at Koh Samui between 13:00 and 13:30.

Day 2: Chumphon Pinnacle and Koh Tao
Following another early pick-up from your hotel or resort between 07:00 and 07:30, depart from the pier on a VIP speedboat for Chumphon Pinnacle and Koh Tao. Today you will take a deep dive and learn underwater navigation, as well as take 2 more elective adventure dives.

Chumphon Pinnacle is Koh Tao’s most impressive and desirable dive site, as well as being one of the most challenging dive sites. With occasional strong currents and a maximum depth of 118 feet (36 meters), the site consists of 4 massive pinnacles that tower up to 40 feet (12 meters) below the surface.

As the site is a good distance offshore, the visibility is excellent, stretching for more than 100 feet (30 meters). Look out for whale sharks and striped remoras. The site is also ideal for spotting big groupers, pick handle barracudas, and king mackerels.

Your 2nd and 3rd dive will be at one of the many shallower dive sites near Koh Tao.

All dive equipment is new, professionally maintained, and of the highest quality. The stock includes brand new Aqua Lung Titan LX Regulators, and Aqua Lung BCDs, Mares Avanti X3 Superchannel Open Heel Fins, with booties provided, plus an assortment of new wetsuits, masks, and snorkels.

Instructors take the time you need to learn the course materials thoroughly, and you will walk away a safe, knowledgeable diver. The following adventure dives are also available at a minimum extra cost for equipment rental:
Nitrox (Enrich Air) Adventure Dive
Digital Photography Adventure Dive with an underwater Canon Ixus 95 camera
DPV Adventure Dive
Night Dive. This is only available as a beach dive, and there is no extra charge for this specialty dive.
