Berchtesgaden and Konigssee were both great places. However, the time given to us was very limited. We were included in a group going to the Salt Mines so while they were there, the shuttle took us to Konigssee. Once there, most of the shops are closed. And we only had arround 50minutes to wander around so we weren't able to ride a boat which I think shluld be the highlight of this said tour. After that, we want back to the shuttle then picked up those in the Salt Mines and we went to Berchtesgaden. Also, we had very limited time there. Only about an hour to explore the Berchtesgaden Advent Market.

This was an easy half day, starting in the afternoon, and including some iconic locations at Berchtesgaden and Konigssee. The opportunity to have a meal in Berchtesgaden was a nice way to finish the tour. The coach was well appointed, the driver was attentive, and our guide filled the tourist with heaps of interesting information and anecdotes.

The tour was excellently run; the tour guide charming & engaging; the scenery breathtaking. The actual end destination, while historically interesting, was not much to see. The positive, proceeds go to charity, UNICEF and that provides a reason to go. Otherwise, cringe at giving that vile monster any more notoriety.

is an excellent guide. The view from Eagle Nest is amazing and breathtaking!the only disappointment that there is nothing to admire, most rooms have been rebuilt into restaurants .The salt mine visit is interesting as well.Konigssee Lake is another great location for photos!
