Knysna Elephant Park

DAY 1 Your route takes you through Route 62, traveling inland over the Overberg Region of the Western Cape. You will also visit Ronnie’s Sex Shop! Afterwards, you will continue to Oudtshoorn, South Africa’s Ostrich Capital. This town hosts the well-known Cango Caves National Monument. You will stay overnight in Oudtshoorn. (Dinner) DAY 2 After an early morning breakfast, you will visit the local ostrich farm! You will head to Knysna for lunch and to explore the Knysna heads. Visiting Knysna Elephant Park is also an optional extra, where you have the opportunity to touch, feed and walk with earth’s largest land mammals! An ocean safari is yet another optional extra, where you can spot dolphins and whales from a boat in Plettenberg Bay! We will make a quick stop en route at Bloukrans Bungee, which is the highest bungee in the world at 216 meters! You will stay overnight in Storms River Village. (Breakfast; Dinner) DAY 3 Today, you head through to Tsitsikamma National Park for a hike to the famous Storms River mouth. Walk on the Hanging Bridge, where you can take a dip in the Indian Ocean! From here, you head to the Garden Route Game Lodge, where you can enjoy a Big 5 sunset game drive, fantastic 3 Course dinner . You will also stay overnight in their award-winning chalets or Lodge room. (Breakfast; Dinner) DAY 4 Today, you will go on an early morning game drive to see some animals you perhaps didn’t see in the evening. This will be followed by a scrumptious breakfast! After breakfast, you will make your way to Hermanus, which is famous for being the best land-based whale watching site (in season) in South Africa and is a beautiful little town with wonderful cliff-side walks. Making our way back towards Cape Town, your last stop is at Stony Point, where you will visit the local penguin colony before making your way back with spectacular views over False Bay. (Breakfast)

Board one of our luxury vehicles for a transfer to the Knysna Elephant Park, which offers a rare and exciting opportunity to get close to these gentle giants who live in a controlled, free-range environment. The tour continues with a ferry trip to the world-famous Featherbed Nature Reserve, a South African Heritage site on the Western Head of Knysna, where you will embark on a wonderful eco-experience which includes a 4x4 trailer ride and guided walk, stopping at spectacular viewpoints. Optional extra: a guided 2.2km walk through coastal forest and fynbos into ancient sea caves. This 4-hour excursion also includes a full buffet lunch. For lovers of crafted Gin and Beer we visit Knysna distilleries. Gin is distilled the traditional way with a flame & copper pot still. It is made with nine natural botanicals, including the Num Num berry which is Knysna Lourie’s favourite treat. Leisure time to explore the quaint town with its many art and craft shops, visiting the view sites at the Knysna Heads.

We'll explore The Point and the Cave, and enjoy a thrilling zipline adventure at Botlierskop Game Reserve Safari. Take in the stunning scenery as we make our way to Mossel Bay, where we'll spend the night. Day 3: George and Knysna: After breakfast, we'll head to George, where we'll visit Redberry Farm for a taste of their delicious fruit products. We'll then venture to Cango Wildlife Ranch for a fun-filled animal encounter. Next, we'll stop in Wilderness and take in the breathtaking views from the Map of Africa viewpoint. We'll arrive in Knysna in the afternoon and explore the waterfront on Thesen Island, taking in the picturesque views of this charming town. Day 4: Knysna and Plettenberg Bay: Today is packed with adventure! We'll visit Elephant Park for an unforgettable elephant experience, before heading to Plettenberg Bay for lunch. In the afternoon, we'll visit Monkeyland and Birds of Eden, two world-class wildlife sanctuaries. We'll also stop at Tenikwa Wildlife Reserve Knysna for an exciting wildlife encounter. If you're feeling brave, take a leap of faith with a bungy jump off The Bridge, located near Nature's Valley. Day 5: Tsitsikamma National Park and Return to Cape Town: After breakfast, we'll explore Tsitsikamma National Park, known for its stunning coastline and scenic hiking trails. We'll take in the breathtaking views of the Indian Ocean before making our way back to Cape Town.
