Get familiar with the locals' favourite way of moving around in snow covered forest - snowmobiling! Our experienced snowmobile guide will teach you how to drive a snowmobile and lead you to the wintery nature. Wander through the white forest and frozen waters on maintained snowmobile tracks. Enjoy the chance of a lifetime to see what Lapland has to offer. In the middle of the trip we will have a small break to enjoy hot drinks and tasty cookies. This safari is suitable for the whole family! You will be sharing a snowmobile between 2 people. Contact us at least 48h in advance if you need a pick up to come to our office within a 10km radius. Otherwise the meeting location will be our Safartica Office in Levi 20 minutes before the activity time. Missing the meeting time outside reasonable delays will incur the loss of the money paid for the activity. In order to drive a Snowmobile, a valid physical driver's license and being 18 years old is required by Finnish law.

You will be driving in pairs, one driver and one passenger on each snowmobile, with an opportunity to switch places and take photos during the trip. Listen to melody of winter, and see both magical light of snow and colors of winter. During the program you will get in touch with trained reindeer and feed them with lichen. We will tell you how to handle and treat reindeer and what means reindeer husbandry. You can also try to catch wooden reindeer by Lappish lasso, the traditional reindeer husbandry equipment. After the ride we will lead you to a Kammi, a special Finnish cottage. In the Kammi you can cook sausage by the fire and have hot drink and local cookie.

This longer snowmobile safari will give you the chance to explore the breathtaking trails around the Levi fell. You will enjoy ever changing landscapes and make several stops to admire the snowy nature along the way. If weather conditions are good, we may even have the chance to drive to the top of the fell! Warm drinks and a snack will be served during a longer break in a cozy local cafeteria or Lapp tent. Duration of the program is 3 hours, including preparations. The driving time is approximately 2 hours 30 minutes and the driving distance depends on the driving skills of the group. Two adults ride on one snowmobile, single riding is possible for an extra charge. The tour is suitable for anyone interested in experiencing snowmobiling. Children 4 - 14 years are traveling in the sleigh pulled by the guide's snowmobile.
