Built 137m above sea level on this rocky island, it is one of the most impressive castles in Crete and worth the 15 minute hike up the footpath. This really is one of the best beaches on Crete. After we take the boat back so we can start our return journey. Around 20:00 we will have returned to Heraklion.

Depart Rethymno and Chania areas and travel by luxury mercedes vito along the new national road towards the westernmost tip of Crete. Pass the bay of Souda and the former Cretan capital of Chania before your arrival in Kissamos. Upon arrival, climb aboard a boat and cross to Balos Bay at the northernmost tip of the peninsula.
