access from the water taxi not great for disabled people, but once at the venue it's easily accessible and mobility scooter friendly. We spent several hours at Kinderdijk, taking our time to visit the windmills and learning about their history. The windmills were nicely preserved and it is definitely a must-visit for first-timers to Netherlands.

Visit two museum mills, open-air displays, and a pumping station. There's also an interactive scavenger hunt for kids, a multi-screen film, and an app to make the most of your visit.

Then, clamber aboard one of the inclusive tour boats. Glide across the polder waters as the many windmills of the village drift past.

This is a self guided tour! Once you have bought a ticket, make your way there and start walking! Or you can catch the charming little boat that takes you to the small distance stop off points where you can actually go into two of the 19 operating windmills - the oldest from 1635 I think...do get chatting to your boat hosts and the fellows running the windmills and do watch the vidoes on the boats (only 9 minutes)
