Full description
ICBM base consisted of 9 groups of launching facilities equipped with intercontinental ballistic missiles. In the housing estate there were at one time 22 military units and sub-units located in the barracks, dining rooms, training corps, classrooms and more. However, since 2002 the missle force base has been a museum which you are free to explore!
The highlight of the trip is a descent 33 meters down to the bottom of the Unified Launch Control Center. There you can take an underground corridor to the massive doors which lead to a 12-story self-contained silo Command Post which could function sealed from the outside world for a whole 45 days. You will also be able to sit in the command seat and experience what Soviet officers might've felt like during the Cold War, being in charge of nine missiles. You can even touch the button that could cause a catastrophe if pressed a mere 18 years ago.
Look inside SS-18 'Satan' Intercontinental Ballistic Missile - equipped with up to 10 warheads, which used to give the Soviet Union "first strike" advantage over the U.S. and now is part of this unique tour experience.
