Full description
Meet your guide in Kiev and check your passport details before departing. It takes around 2 hours to get to the main entrance of the zone (check point Dytiatky) where you will pass through passport control and begin the tour. Discover the town of Chernobyl, where almost 5000 people work and live. See the main square in the town of Chernobyl and the the Wormwood Star memorial, with one of the few remaining statue of Lenin left in Ukraine. Move on to the Chernobyl river port with its sunken boats and ships. You make a quick stop at the local shop (if needed) before going to the Memorial to Those Who Saved the World. Then, head to the village of Kopachi where almost all the buildings were buried in the ground during the decontamination works of 1986. The area is very overgrown now. You will stop near the remaining nursery school. After lunch, go to Prypiat – the ghost town where time stopped on April 26th 1986. Travel back in time and plunge into the communism era. Your professional guide will help you explore and get to understand the town for roughly 2 hours.

Pick up was well organized and the tour was as advertised. You spend the full day in the exclusion zone and you have enough time to take photos and walk around (in designated areas) on your own. The guide was well prepared and able to tell a lot of stories and speak in well understandable english. We were offered a lot of times to walk around on our own and own pace. We did not miss any spot we wanted to see. We felt all the time safe and did not had any concerns about saftey. The lunch was, ... well as expected not so nice, so take something with you. The transportation vans were nice and we had enough wifi to post photos directly from the bus and backup some of the photos already. We would have appreciated a group discount which was not offered.

Excellent tour from start to finish. Picked up promptly, everything was explained clearly about how are day would be. Natalie our guide was so knowledgeable and answered any questions with ease. We had several stop off, all so interesting with plenty of time for pictures. Lunch in the canteen is different but all part of the experience. Would 100% recommend this tour.

I highly recommend this trip! We had a great day & it was such great value for money. Angelina was our guide & she was great, lots of knowledge & took us to the best places. Highlights were exploring an abandoned village (going in the homes), seeing the power plant & walking all round Pripyat. It was fascinating to see but an emotional adventure too thinking of all those affected by the explosion. In addition, I’m vegan & had enough food to eat on the trip with the vegetarian option.
