Get picked up from your Glenelg or Adelaide hotel and begin following the River Torrens through the spectacular Torrens Gorge. Learn about local wineries and sample their wines along the way. After we pick you up in the city at 9.00am (or 8.30am in Glenelg), we head out of the city to the iconic Barossa Valley. Kies Family Wines is our first stop of the day. The Kies Family have been growing grapes in the region for six generations, some vines are over 80yrs old! The little cottage, once used as a Chaff Mill opened its cellar door in 1985. Their philosophy has always been “not to get bigger, just better”. There is something for everyone here; from a dry Reisling to a Sparkling Rosé, lighter style red, right through to a big Barossa red, sweet wine or a Fortified…there’s even something for the tea connoisseurs. By the time you leave here you’ll feel like one of the family. We head to the western edge of the Barossa to our second stop of the day Pindarie Wines, taking its name from an Aboriginal word meaning “hilly place”. It is a family owned and sustainably run property consisting of sheep, pastures and of course vines. Step through the doors of the restored 1860’s stables and adjacent grain store where we experience a guided tasting of their award-winning wines; from sparkling La Femme Rosé, Fiano, crisp Sangiovese Rosé to their signature TSS blend. Then sit and take in the views of the of the vineyards while enjoying a lunch of regional produce. After lunch we make our way further into the heart of the Barossa to the historic township of Tanunda, where you can enjoy some free time to have a leisurely stroll through the shops and attractions. We’ve discovered the Red and White of the tour…now it’s time to beGin our journey through the most iconic palm lined road in Australia to Seppeltsfield Rd Distillers. Sample their award-winning Barossa Shiraz Gin, it received 99 points at the 2022 International Wine & Spirits Competition – the highest score awarded to any gin to date! Finally, we move on to the last destination of the day, Greenock Brewers. This boutique brewery is located in a historic Wheat Store and producing small batches of traditionally fermented beers, using the German Beer Purity Law of 1516. Meet the brewer and take a tour of the brewery while enjoying a taste of their creations. Now it’s time to relax and reflect on the day as we travel back to the city for a 5pm finish.

Next, we visit the Whispering Wall, one of the world’s most remarkable acoustic phenomena. This will blow your mind! Spy your first vines of the day as we approach the stunning Barossa Valley, and our first wine tasting at Kies Family Winery. Family-owned and operated we will. sample a selection of their award-winning wines. We then continue to the iconic Lambert Estate where a host will take you through a wonderful tasting experience. Time for lunch where we enjoy freshly baked gourmet pizzas served in the center of the table with all kinds of toppings! And theres plenty of time to mingle with your fellow Groovy friends. Descend into the heart of the valley next where the afternoon is all about living like a local as you have 45 minutes to enjoy the delights of Tanunda. What you do here is up to you...... Enjoy a wine tasting at Z Wines, the inspiration of sisters Janelle and Kristen Zerk (Z for Zerk) who continue the families rich wine producing history spanning 5 generations. Alternatively, visit the Rein Bier Brewhouse Cellar door and taste a few locally brewed beers (Brewhouse tasting own cost). Or simply wander and explore Tanunda’s charming shops, buy a souvenir, or enjoy a coffee or an ice cream, relaz and watch the workd go by. Time now to head back to Adelaide after your Groovy Adventure; have a snooze, or chat to new found friends and reflect on your Groovy day.

Lifting off from the heli-pad in the Hoffnungsthal Valley, enjoy flying over Rowland Flat taking in the views of Jacob’s Creek Winery’s “tank farm”, before heading to Lyndoch, at the southern end of the Barossa, where you will arrive in style at Kies Family Wines. From our landing site directly at the entrance to Kies Family Wines Cellar door you will be introduced to the Kies Crew, who give great pleasure in guiding you through a tasting of their extensive range.
