As one of the oldest national parks in the country, you’ll find all kinds of animals living in the area, from mammals and reptiles to birds and insects. DAY 1: Around 9:00 AM on day 1 your private driver will meet you at your hotel in Bangkok and take you to Khao Yai National Park. The first stop that you're heading to is Khao Yai Nature Life, the transfer takes about 3 hours. Once there, it's time to meet and greet your guide, then continue for the afternoon tour. You will be visiting a Buddhist cave temple, see million wrinkle-lipped bats flying and forming a snake-like stream in the sky and visit a viewpoint overlooking the National Park. This tour will be joined with a small group (max 10 people). After today's tour a transfer to your hotel. DAY 2: Get up at 7:00 AM, enjoy breakfast, then pickup for the tour will be at 8:00 AM. First stop in Khao Yai National park is a stop at the Viewpoint to stretch your legs. You will be joining a guide in a small group party. Then, the guide will take you hiking through the dry evergreen forest where gibbons, monkey and hornbills are often seen. After that you will drive up to Haew Suwat waterfall, followed by lunch near the waterfalls and swimming in a natural pool. In the afternoon, you will see to the second highest mountain of the park and relax on a superb viewpoint. Your most favorite part of the day could be the evening when you are going to be checking out the wild elephants that might come to the salt licks. This join tour finishes at 7:30 PM in Khao Yai. 4. Khao Yai National Park Jungle Trekking Day Trip From Bangkok

After hotel pick-up in the early hours, head to the first stop on the trek at the Kilometer 30 viewing point at Thanarat Road. Capture the scenery of the Northern part of Khao Yai National Park, great for photo opportunities. Trek onward to Kilometer 33, known as Nong Park Chi to the locals. Walk for around 2 hours, passing an observation tower and many different species of wildlife. There is a salt lick close to the tower to attract wildlife, along with a lake, open grassland and forest. Savor a traditional Thai lunch at a local restaurant. After lunch, head to the Khao Yai National Park Visitor Center in the park headquarters, a useful starting point for visitors with information and interpretive facilities to enhance your appreciation of the park. See exhibits on the natural environment and wildlife of Khao Yai, and get information about day hiking trails. Finally, stop at the splendid Haew Suwat Waterfall, with plenty of shady tree spots to sit under and many large rocks to lie down on and relax. This stunning waterfall was made famous in The Beach, but is unfortunately off limits to swim in. After your full day trekking in the forest, transfer back to Bangkok at approximately 6:00 PM.

5. From Bangkok: Ayutthaya & Khao Yai National Park Day Trip

Enjoy a full-day trip out of Bangkok, explore the impressive monuments and temple ruins built during the Ayutthaya era. Make your first stop at Wat Yai Chai Mongkhon to see the 42-meter-long reclining white Buddha. Then, head to Wat Phra Mahathat to spot the famous tree that has grown around a Buddha's head. Take a selfie with the Buddha's head, but make sure you sit on your knees to show respect, as it is considered holy by Thais. Continue to Wat Phra Si Sanphet, the largest temple in Ayutthaya, known for its distinctive row of restored chedis. Housed within the grounds of the former royal palace, the temple was used only for royal religious ceremonies. The three Chedis are very elegant, and the whole place gives a good impression of what it may have looked like before the city was destroyed. You then make another stop in Ayutthaya at Wihan Phra Mongkhon Bophit. This is one of the biggest Buddha images in Thailand, with a lap measurement at 9.55 meters and a height of 12.45 meters. It is a good model of the Buddha image during the end of Ayutthaya reign. From there, continue to a local restaurant, where you will be served authentic Thai dishes. Move on to Khao Yai National Park and stop at Haew Narok Waterfall to see a beautiful view of the waterfall by walking just 1 kilometer from the main road. Taking a safe trail down the cliff, continue to the Visitor Center to hear about the park’s history and attractions. The final stop is KM 30 Viewpoint on Thanarat Road, and after the wonderful journey, you will return to your hotel in Bangkok, arriving at around 6:30 PM.

Khao Yai National Park or Big Mountain attracts one million visitors a year, mostly from Bangkok, which is only a 3-hour drive away. Khao Yai boasts four vegetation zones, spanning elevations from 100 meters to more than 1,400 meters. In its forest and savannah, the park supports a wild elephant herd estimated at 300. Another attraction is a vast population of hornbills of various species being great hornbill, wreathed, oriental pied, and brown. The trip will start from Bangkok in the early morning, around 6:00 AM. You will be greeted by a friendly driver and drive 3 hours to visit the first national park in Thailand. There are up to fifty hiking trails following the migratory paths of wildlife to scenic waterfalls such as Heaw Narok and to grassy savannahs where elephants roam. On this journey, you will be trekking around 3-4km, which is an easy trail of 2 hours. You will also get to visit observation towers which will make it easier to see from the top. Your park ranger will serve as a guide and escort you around while sharing interesting information. At the end of your day, you'll arrive back at your hotel in Bangkok between 5:00 and 6:00 PM.

This was a great day out in the Nature with a super friendly driver Mr. Chan. The walking trail amidst interesting noises of birds, gibbons etc was wonderful!. I absolutely enjoyed it. Good organisation and great timing

The tour guide (Chan) was great. He had a good foundation of knowledge of the area and also helped me try some different food that I never would have tried on my own.

Great guide, clean vehicle, and super lunch. Wonderful hike to waterfalls. Ttip long but well worth it.

Martin the guide was very good and the hiking at the jungle was amazing, very recommended.
