Khao Sok National Park: 2-Hour Chiew Larn Lake Boat Tour
- Duration: 2 hours
Overall we did enjoy. The stop at the market was ok but too long at around an hour. Too long to look at fish and vegetables. Really enjoyed bathing the elephants , that was the best part of the trip. The lunch included was awful. It was set out on the table when we arrived and must have been out a while as it was cold so we did not eat any of it. Annoying on an all day trip to have no decent food. Bamboo rafting was good and worth doing. So good and bad elements to this trip. What I would say is that with a good taxi driver of which there’s many you can do most of the trips much cheaper.
It was great. We enjoyed it all, loved bathing the elephants and interacting with them. The bamboo rafting was beautiful and relaxing with the bamboo coffee to break up trip down river. Monkeys we saw right up close at temple, but also on river. And lunch... was great with lots of choice. We had an English guide to answer our questions and driver was very accommodating. Only needed a little extra money to feed elephants, but optional. We thought day covered a range of experiences for good value, and we were family with teenage children.
I loved everything about this trip and it was such a breath-taking place to visit. The van that picked us up was comfortable, the boat ride was super scenic, we had staff attending to our needs, the guide was super knowledgeable about caves, lunch was delicious and the resort 500Rai was just so relaxing. I really enjoyed the trek and soon after jumping into the cool emerald water for a swim. This was the highlight of our Khao Lak trip.
We had amazing guide (Nim) who spoke in English very well and could explain all the things about the park and all the activities etc. Very helpful and really nice person. We were 5 friends and all of us were very satisfied with this experience. We even manage to see a snake on the way to the cave. If you like outdoors then this is a very perfect way to spend one day taking this adventure/experience.
This trip solely is probably not worth your money. At the point of arrival you can book an extra trip to a cave which was absolutely worth it for me and my girlfriend. The lake is beautiful and you will absolutely enjoy every second of it. The guide was great. Her husband is from Rotterdam. Luckily, I am too so we had a good connection.
