Adam our guide gave great commentary about all the activities and took time to learn everyone’s name. Turtles were very cute. Bamboo river rafting was better than expected and the guy punting our raft was always on look out for wildlife- we saw a bat and he also pointed out a mangrove snake (but I hate snakes so asked him not to hang about). Elephants were highlight of day - we got to make their snack and feed it to them. The elephants obviously enjoyed the interaction with us and were quite playful and mischievous as we bathed them, squirting water on several occasions. Lunch was included at elephant conservation centre and was of very good quality. Would definitely recommend this excursion.

Full description

Depart Khao Lak and enjoy a day tour of river rafting, elephant interaction, and rainforest exploration. Visit an ethical elephant conservation center, sail along a quiet river through the rainforest, and hear about sea turtle conservation.

After pickup from your hotel in Khao Lak, relax on the comfortable ride to the elephant camp. Spend some time with bathing and feeding these gentle giants in a relaxed and respectful environment.

Continue the tour with a visit to Ton Pling Waterfall. Enjoy some refreshments as you watch the by jungle. Surrounded by lush vegetation, the area around the falls also hosts an abundance of local wildlife.

Hop on a bamboo raft with a local boatman and float along the river for a calm and tranquil ride through the rainforest. Head to the Sea Turtle Conservation Center to learn about projects aimed helping these endangered creatures. Finally, return to your hotel in Khao Lak.

We really enjoyed this day, it was really hot outside but there was limited walking and plenty of water available. The minibus was air conditioned and comfortable. We really liked the rafting, but you will get your feet and possibly bottom wet. The turtles were great and you had free time to walk around. The elephant sanctuary was the best, we got to prepare the food, feed and wash the elephants before lunch (showers and changing room were available). The waterfall was a bit disappointing and a very quick stop before returning back. Overall this was a great day and well worth the money, the guide was great and we would highly recommend.
