It was nice. I enjoyed meeting an astronaut, however, I would not have paid extra for the experience of “meeting the astronaut” when you can go to the theater and still have the same experience, if not even better. Bc it’s free and it’s included in the general admission package.

Blast off and experience a trip like no other to NASA's Kennedy Space Center and Visitor Complex. Shake hands with an astronaut, learn about various Apollo missions and see Space Shuttle Atlantis®.  Visit the space station in the morning or afternoon, depending on what tour you choose. Explore your surroundings, enjoy either breakfast or lunch paired with one alcoholic drink (for adults) or light refreshments. Enjoy exhibits, shows, and attractions, including the world's largest collection of astronaut memorabilia. Walk around, visit the Space Shuttle Atlantis®, Shuttle Launch Experience, Rocket Garden, and Heroes & Legends featuring the U.S. Astronaut Hall of Fame presented by Boeing®. Meet a real astronaut, one of the coolest experiences you will get on Earth. Chat with them as they tell you about their missions, and get a photo taken with them. Experience a great day out with all the family. That's one you can tick off your bucket list.

Kennedy Space Center Visitor Complex. Upon arrival, bypass the Ticket Plaza and present your tickets at the turnstile. To find out where the Chat with an astronaut is held, you can pick up a map at the entrance or ask one of the friendly staff around.

Know before you go

  • A parking fee is required for the car park, which can be paid at the visitors complex on the day. For motorcycles, costs $5, automobiles are $10, motor homes, and RVs are $15 which can be paid at the visitors complex
  • Wheelchairs, electric convenience vehicles (ECV), strollers, and double strollers are available for rent at the visitor complex;

What a treat for my 13 year old daughter! It's not everyday you get to hear what it's like to be in space from a real astronaut. Bill McArthur made it fun.
