Tsaghkadzor (Kecharis, ropeway), Lake Sevan (Sevanavank)
Embark on a private day trip from Yerevan to the ski resort of Tsaghkadzor to explore the 11th-century monastic complex of Kecharis. Admire Sevanavank Monastery on Lake Seven, one of the world's highest mountainous freshwater lakes, afterward. After pickup at your hotel in Yerevan, drive toward Tsakhkadzor, which means the "Gorge of Flowers" in Armenian, with your driver. Take in stunning views of the mountains, snow tops, rapid rivers, and picturesque valleys. Upon arrival in the north-western part of Tsakhkadzor, find the 11th-century Kecharis Monastery. Get some time to explore the monastic complex, either on your own or with a guide if you choose the tour option with a guide. Next, continue to the so-called "Jewel of Armenia,” Lake Sevan. There, marvel at one of the most prominent examples of medieval Armenian architecture – Sevanavank Monastery — which was founded on a narrow rocky peninsula on the northwest part of the lake in 874 AD. After time to discover Sevanavank Monastery, return to Yerevan for drop-off at your hotel.
