It was really good. They picked me up at 5:20 am to take me to the train station. The train left just before 6:00 am. Some one picked me up at the train station of Krakow, and showed me a little bit of the city before we met the rest of the group to go to Auschwitz. We took a bus ride that lasted about one and a half hours. Once there, we took a tour of two concentration camps for three hours and a half. We had a 15 minute break to grab something for lunch or check the souvenirs store. The tour didn’t include a visit to the museum. Can’t take big purses or backpacks into Auschwitz. We rode back on the bus and got back to Krakow about 5:00 pm. By then, it was dark and some places were already closed. We got to walk around the city, and see from the outside different places and churches. We got to check the Christmas market too. The tour ended at 10:00 pm at the train station. Back in Warsaw about 12:30 am. The last tour guide was very knowledgeable of the history of Poland.
This trip was brilliant. We stumbled across this looking for just the factory tickets, and we are glad we found this. We didn’t even know that this concentration camp existed and the tour guide was absolutely brilliant. He gave us so much information, we also were very lucky that is was just the 2 of us. He showed us so many things around the ghetto, allowed us to get in and out to take photos, explained everything we were seeing and answered all our questions. The concentration camp was again very informative. He explained everything we needed to know and more. Gave us the option to skip things if we wanted too and the option to take a different route etc. Picked us up from our accommodation, hassle free and no stress. Transport was lovely also. All in all a fantastic tour which we both would highly recommend if you are looking to not only go into the factory museum but learn about history and the concentration camp which isn’t one everyone knows about.
Simply amazing! Michael was a terrific guide and his passion and knowledge meant we overrun by 2 hours as he was happy to talk and show us everything that Krakow and Plaszow Concentration camp had to offer. Through his connections we managed to see places otherwise inaccessible. He has a vast knowledge about WW2 and was happy to discuss controversial views and opinions by his local government. Car was very comfortable for the 5 of us and at the end of the tour Michael was happy to drop us off at a different pick up location. This allowed us to avoid needing to walk back into the Old Town after arriving 2 hours later than scheduled as we had such an great experience. Michael is the man!
Group of 11 many on second visit to plaszow. This time chose to have a guide in Michael and Patrick. From start to finish the group were guided seamlessly through the site every question answered and group discussions welcomed . A must for any historical ww2 visit which in many of our groups minds is on a par with Auschwitz birkenau museum all be it on a different format .
This was a great experience. Michael (guide) was extremely knowledgeable. He went above and beyond my expectations on the site visit. I can not say enough good things about him. I am not a big museum person, but Schindler's museum was very informative. It was a bit crowded and hard to get by the other tour groups. Overall, a great time and very informative.
