  • See the famous Waipo'o Falls and the rainbow-colored walls of Waimea Canyon
  • Explore short hiking trails selected by your guide
Full description
Journey from Hanapēpē to Waimea, along the only road that crosses the entire island. Follow the path that is steadily leading up the rim of Waimea Canyon, and take in the views of the world famous Nā Pali Coast on Kauai's North Shore, at an elevation of over 4,000 ft (1220 m). Along the way, stop at the most beautiful canyon overlooks to marvel at Kauai's treasures including rainbow-colored canyon walls, the 800-foot (244 m) Waipo'o Falls and thick island vegetation. If you’re feeling up for "stretching your legs", your guide will select the best trails to explore, based on the weather and your group’s interests. Hikes may be 0.25 - 0.5 miles (400 - 800 m) round trip on relatively even terrain. This is a private tour — it will just be you and your private group. Because of this, you are free to go at your own pace and hike as much, or as little, as you would like for the duration of the tour you have selected. Your guide will contact you before the start of your tour to help plan a custom itinerary.

This was a beautiful tour. The setup was a little weird. We met our guide at a bakery and then rode with him in his beat up truck. Guide was very nice, but conversation heavily involved anti “first world” beliefs and conspiracy theories about the government’s plans to keep the Hawaiian people down by introducing meth to Kauai (he was not Polynesian for the record). We are very open minded people and tried not to let the oddities of the tour detract from the beauty of the canyon and our otherwise very thorough tour. That said, I would not book this again.

We chose to do this tour on our first full day on Kawai. My husband and I were traveling with his 82 year old parents (his mom 3 months out from a hip replacement), so we requested that the "hiking" be super easy. I spoke with our tour guide Jenny ahead of time, letting her know of the limitations with our group and she did a wonderful job of showing us the highlights while 100% accommodating the mobility restrictions! This day was one of the highlights of our two week trip to Hawaii and all due to Jenny's outstanding treatment of all of us, especially my MIL! Mahalo!!

Patrick is the absolute best tour guide one can ask for. We thoroughly enjoyed his company, his knowledge, his energy! He went out of his way to make our experience memorable and fun! We highly recommend this tour. Breath taking views and learning about Kauai through this tour was some of the best parts of this island-hopping experience!
