Full description
Luau Kalamaku is an unforgettable experience and a “must see” for any visitor. The twice-weekly extravaganza has welcomed guests since 2007, offering great views from every seat. Following dinner, the cast takes the stage for the 45-minute main show to tell the amazing story of the ancient Hawaiian legend of Kalamakū (“child of the new land); the epic voyage taken by islanders between Tahiti and Kauaʻi along one of the longest sea roads of Polynesia. Through laughter, fear, seduction and fire, a new legacy is created, born from the cherished seeds of their ancestors. The evening begins with craft and cultural demonstrations, and Hawaiian games, followed by the traditional imu ceremony. Guests are treated to delicious traditional local cuisine, while hula dancers and musicians entertain. The show culminates with a fantastic fire dream featuring fire poi balls and traditional fire knife dancing. We arrived at least a half hour early to get a good seat, which we did. There were local jewelry and art tents nearby which was appreciated. Drinks were included in the price. The show itself was really terrific, very impressive. High dramatic moments were interspersed with quieter moments. The dinner was delicious, especially the pork. Parking was great—it was quick and easy to get in and out. The whole experience was a highlight of our visit to Hawaii.

Everyone in our party loved this event! The plantation is beautiful, the food and drinks are fantastic, and the show is terrific. The art & craft market was a nice surprise, and the leis and beautiful garden setting gave us the best photos of our trip. We appreciated the disposable gloves they handed out at the buffet.

What a fun experience. We felt pampered and welcomed from the very beginning where we were welcomed with leis and puca necklace and then got a wonder photo taken. I had some delicious Mai Tais - yum! Glad the buffet was done and you took great precautions by gloving up everyone. I was too full to appreciate the desserts. Loved the preshow entertainment and then the show was visually stimulating. My wife has not stopped raving about the experience. Oh and she loved the Caliente Margaritas at the lounge at Godfrey's. They were delicious. Only dissappointment was the Koloa Rum place was closed. If you visit toward the end of the year you'll have to deal with that.
