Just 37km south of Katowice, Pszczyna is a quaint town centered around a market square. The Pszczyna castle, built in the 13th century, is a unique residence with over 70% original, historical furnishings from the turn of the 20th century. Its most recent renovations were during the 18th and 19th centuries when its Renaissance exterior was changed to a Baroque-classical design. The permanent exhibition includes among others an apartment of Emperor Wilhelm the Second, the grandson of the British Queen Victoria. At this residence, he invited numerous guests such as the Bulgarian Tsar Ferdinand, Austrian-Hungarian Emperor Charles I, and Enver Pasza – the dictator of Turkey. The castle grounds are part of the larger historic Pszczyna Park, which is home to the Polish Bison Farm. Here, you can get close to bison during feeding times as well as deer, peacocks, and geese. You will spend around 1.5 hours on the tour with an audioguide. Then you will have around 1.5 hours to relax in the bison village & park. You are allowed to take photos. After your arrival back in Katowice, you will be dropped off at your pick up point.
