Everest Base Camp Trek gives you an opportunity to visit places only a handful of worlds population will ever visit. Follow the footsteps of Hillary and Norgay, trek in one of the most breathtaking mountain areas and stand face-to-face with Mt Everest.
What to Expect
Day 01: Arrival in Kathmandu (1,400 m)

An airport representative will receive you at Tribhuvan International Airport, Kathmandu. He will be displaying an signboard with the company logo outside the airport terminal. You will then be transferred to your respective hotel in a private vehicle.

Note: If you happen to arrive after 4pm, you would be briefed about the trek by the airport representative/guide on the way to your hotel. This will be the pre-trek meeting for you, so please make sure that you ask all the questions to the guide. But if you arrive earlier than 4pm, the pre-trek meeting will be on that very day at the trek operator's office. During the meeting, you will be introduced to your leader/guide. For the meeting, please make sure you bring your passport, three copies of your passport-size photo and a readable copy of your travel insurance policy. Please clear the due balance, if any, and sign the legally binding trip form as well as the non-liability disclaimer at the meeting.

Day 02: Fly to Lukla (2,804 m) and Trek to Phakding (2,610 m) - 3 hours

An early-morning drive takes you to Tribhuwan International Airport in Kathmandu for the 35-minute scenic flight to Tenzing and Hillary Airport at Lukla. Upon arrival at the airport, your guide will brief you and introduce you to the porters.

After landing you have time to explore the village while the crew sort and load trekking equipments. Then, begin the trek to Phakding descending towards the Dudh Koshi River where you will join the main trail to Namche Bazaar, located just above Chaunrikharka (2,713 m). The walking is easy, and after passing through the small village of Ghat (2550m), it is a short walk to Phakding.

Day 03: Trek to Namche Bazaar (3,441 m) – 5½ hours

Continue trekking along the banks of the Dudh Koshi River. Cross this majestic river many times on exciting suspension bridges laden with prayer flags. After entering Sagamartha National Park, the trail climbs steeply with breathtaking views. Namche Bazaar, known as the Gateway to Everest, is home to many quality restaurants, hotels, lodges, shops, money exchanges, internet cafes and bakeries. Namche is one of the biggest villages along the whole Everest trail.

Day 04 - Namche Bazaar Acclimatization Day

Spend a day here in order to acclimatize and adjust to the thinning of the air. You will do a short trek to a museum which celebrates the traditional customs of the Sherpa people. Hike up to the Syangboche Airport around Everest View Hotel. From this point, you can see rewarding views of the Himalayas with stunning sunrise and sunset over the panorama of Khumbu peaks.

Day 05: Trek to Tengboche Monastery (3,860 m) - 5 hours

The trek continues along the rushing glacial waters of the Dudh Koshi River with magnificent views of the mountains. Trek to an altitude of 3,860 meters today. On reaching Tengboche, you will see the local monastery. Inside the monastery are incredibly ornate wall hangings, a 20-foot sculpture of Buddha and musical instruments and robes of the Lamas. You will be taken to observe a prayer ceremony either in the evening or morning depending on how the day's trekking goes.

Day 06: Trek to Dingboche (4,350 m) - 5½ hours

From Tengboche, the trail drops to Debuche, crosses another exciting suspension bridge on the Imja Khola, and climbs to Pangboche amongst thousands of mani stones. Your uphill trek continues, taking you to the quaint traditional Sherpa village of Dingboche with the exquisite views of Lhotse, Island Peak, and Ama Dablam.

Day 07:- Trek to Chhukung (4,710 m) and Trek Back to Dingboche – 4½ hours

Today you can enjoy another day for acclimatization. You will have an acclimatization trip to Chhukung valley via the Imja Khola valley to get marvelous views of the surrounding mountains, especially Lhotse’s massive south wall and then return to Dingboche in the evening.

Day 08: Trek to Lobuche (4,910 m) - 5 hours

The trail continues along the lateral moraine of the Khumbu Glacier and passes by stone memorials for climbers who have perished on nearby summits. Continue to climb as you are heading to the altitude of 4,910 meters at Lobuche which is a few huts at the foot of giant Lobuche peak.

Day 09: Trek to Everest Base Camp (5,365 me) and Back to Gorak Shep (5,180) - 8 hours

This is an important and difficult day walk along the Khumbu Glacier and up to Everest Base Camp, the closest you can get to Mt. Everest without mountaineering equipments. There will likely be a team about to attempt the summit. The view of the Khumbu Icefall from Base Camp is spectacular. Return back to Gorak Shep, a tiny hamlet, for the night.

Day 10: Hike Up to Kala Patthar (5,555 m) Early in the Morning and Trek Down to Periche (4,200 m) - 7 hours

This will also be one of the most difficult yet rewarding days of the trek. The morning is spent climbing Kala Patthar, a small peak (by Himalayan standards). The ascent is demanding but the climber gets the most magnificent mountain panorama: Everest, the highest point on the planet, towers directly ahead and on all sides loom the other giants, Nuptse, Pumori, Chagatse, Lhotse and countless others. After spending some time there, make a quick descent to Gorak Shep and then trek down to Periche.

Day 11: Trek to Namche Bazaar (3,441 m) – 5½ hours

From Periche, take a slightly different route down to Orsho, then to Pangboche village. Here is the oldest monastery in the region which contains what is said to be the scalp and bones of a 'Yeti' or the abominable snowman. Leaving mountains behind, the descent takes you through Tengboche Monastery at an elevation of 3,860 meters before continuing back to the town of Namche Bazaar. You will arrive back to Namche Bazaar in the afternoon.

Day 12: Trek to Lukla (2,804 m) - 6 hours

Finally return to Lukla where the trek began. It might seem like a lifetime ago. Take time at Lukla to reflect on the trek as a group and the personal achievement of all those who took part and also take your time to explore the town.

Day 13: Morning Flight Back to Kathmandu

Enjoy last glimpse of the mountains for one last time on the 35-minute scenic flight back to Kathmandu. On arrival in Kathmandu, you will be transferred back to you hotel. Day 14: Transfer to Tribhuwan International Airport for Flight Departure
