From Kathmandu: 1 hour Panoramic Everest Flight

1. From Kathmandu: 1 hour Panoramic Everest Flight

Take off from Kathmandu airport in the early morning for a spectacular mountain flight to discovery the majestic scenery of the Himalayas. For those who can’t go trekking in the mountains themselves, get panoramic view of the Himalayas in just an hour-long flight. As the aircraft takes off and heads towards the east, you won't have to wait long to find out what's in store for you. First to your far left you will see Gosaithan, also called Shisha Pangma, standing at the majestic height of 26,290 feet (8,013 meters). Immediately to the right of Gosaithan, you will Dorje Lhakpa appear (22,000 feet or 7,000 meters), a mountain that almost looks like a figure 8 lying in the snow. To the right of Dorje Lakpa is Phurbi-Chyachu, which looms over the Kathmandu Valley. As the plane glides along, the mountains come closer and closer. Next on the vision is Buddha Air Mountin Choba-Bhamare, the smallest mountain of the lot, but singularly stubborn as it has never been climbed. Then appears the mountain that is not only prominent in sight but also in its spirituality, Gauri-Shanker. Lord Shiva and his consort Gauri are said to protect this mountain, which was first successfully climbed only in 1979. The mountains of Melungtse and Chugimago are next on the tour, the latter of which is still waiting to be climbed. Numbur and Karyolung, an intensely white mountain, will gleam with the rising sun as we carry on deeper into the mountain range. We will then pass Cho-Oyu, the sixth highest mountain in the world, reaching a height of 27,000 feet (8,201 meters). Gyachungkang, Pumori and Nuptse, each over 22,000 feet (7,000 meters) in height, will mark our path towards the highest mountain of them all: Mount Everest. Known as Sagarmatha by the Nepalese and Chomolungma by the Tibetans, this unbelievable mountain stretches 29,021 feet (8,848 meters) into the sky. Much has already been written about Everest, but to actually witness it face to face during a mountain flight is something else. Even while it looms there in front of the eyes, it remains a remarkable place, this highest spot on earth. The spectacular mountain flights from Nepal Social Travel and Tour are offered by a number of airlines.

The overall tour takes approximately one and a half hours with 40 minutes of flight duration collectively. Every year, thousands of visitors prefer Gosaikunda over several different travel destinations in Nepal. This is mainly because of the religious significance of Gosaikunda Lake followed by the phenomenal mountain ranges that surround the lake. The surface of the lake extends approximately 34 acres and remains frozen most of the winter season. However, the winter season has its perks. The snow-covered surroundings makes up for a heavenly experience at Gosaikunda Lake if you happen to travel during winter. Regardless of the seasons, the Gosaikunda Lake has something unique to offer at each season. Religious Importance The origin of Gosaikunda is directly related to the epics of Hindu Mythology and ‘Samundra Manthan’(literal translation means ‘churning out the ocean‘). It is believed that the Lake was formed after Lord Shiva thrust his Trishul (Trident of Shiva) into the mountain to extract the water to cool down his stinging throat after he had swallowed the ‘Kalkut Vish‘ poison. What people are saying about Kathmandu

I did the Everest Base Camp Trek in Feb 2023 and had an incredible time. The team at Outshine Adventures were superb in providing timely information, accommodation and ensuring I had the proper gear before the trek. They were also kind enough to help me retrieve my luggage from the airport which was delayed upon arrival in Nepal. The Outshine team provided a fantastic day tour of Kathmandu prior to the trek, where I was able to learn more about the culture and city with a very experienced guide, making the beginning of this trip that much more exciting. The trek itself was unbelievably stunning and was both a humbling and an amazing experience. My guide, Dillisher Katuwal was truly world class in both his experience of the mountains as well as ensuring I was safe each step of the way. Trekking with him was incredibly enjoyable and rewarding. For anyone considering any form of adventure to Nepal, I would highly recommend this company as well as Dillisher Katuwal as your guide.

It was a 3-hour drive on a winding road to Last Resort, a Bungee Jumping place. There was supposed to be a bus, but there wasn't so Mr. Sujan, travel agent, hired me a private driver. From the outside it's just a sign, you have to go through the bridge to find Last resort. People are very nice and knowledgeable. We waited for everyone to arrive, were weighed, briefed about the rules. Rules aren't hard and instructors repeat it on the bridge again, so no worries. The jumps themselves were great, I did bungee and tried swing. After the swing, you come down on the ground and have to take a hike uphill (very steep hike I want to add) for 20-30 minutes. I liked bungee more and the next jumps you can do backwards, superman style, etc. 4th jump was free. Lunch is included, it wasn't anything special. 4 hour's drive back because of traffic. Great experience, will want to repeat that.

A great experience and definitely worth it. The view of the Himalayan mountains is priceless. However, you should be aware that the flights are weather-dependent and the planned departure time can be postponed further, sometimes by up to several hours. But the wait is worth it, even if you have to get up early. If you still want a refund, the airlines are quite tolerant. We were traveling with Shree Airlines and everything worked fine. Gladly again.

We had a wonderful experience with our guide Phul. December is a dry month and sunny so the trek is very comfortable. The views across the valleys into the Himalayas are breathtaking. The experience has been very good. Liberty Holidays organised our tour and everything worked perfectly. Our guide was very attentive, very informative and very interesting. We loved the experience. Thank you!

excellent trip! the Driver picked Me up from the hotel and took me to the airport, where we met our pilot and the tour guide who was with us the whole way. the entire trip was worth every penny! we had an unbelievable view of Mt. Everest and we got to eat breakfast at a great hotel at 12000 feet!
