From Kasane: Chobe River Sunset Cruise

1. From Kasane: Chobe River Sunset Cruise

Celebrate the end of the day as the sun sinks into the Chobe River on a 3-hour guided sunset cruise. Enjoy this special time of day in Africa as you cruise upstream into the Chobe National Park and see massive herds of elephants streaming to the river banks for their last drink. After pickup from your centrally located Kasane accommodation, transfer to the Chobe River Jetty to board your boat. Make the most of the best time of day to view the abundant wildlife on the banks of the Chobe River. As the temperature cools, large herds of buffalo, zebra, giraffe, and impala can be seen making their way down to the river. Hippos and crocodiles are also common sightings on the Chobe River Sunset Cruise. Elephants frequently cross the river to the islands where the lush green grass is available year-round. At the end of the cruise, you'll be transported back to your accommodation in Kasane.

From Kasane: Sleeping Under the Stars at Makgadikgadi Pan

2. From Kasane: Sleeping Under the Stars at Makgadikgadi Pan

Spend a night out under the stars on the Makgadikgadi Pan, one of the biggest salt flats in the world located in the middle of northeastern Botswana's dry savanna. Get picked up and dropped off at your hotel in Kasane, and savor included dinner and breakfast. After pickup on the first day, drive for about 4 hours to the Makgadikgadi Pan, specifically the Ntwetwe Pan, one of three large pans in Makgadikgadi. On the way, keep an eye out for wildlife such as ostriches, jackals, ground squirrels, meerkats, and birds. Upon arrival, marvel at a site where, according to recent studies of mitochondrial DNA, humans first began to evolve around 200,000 years ago. Admire a perfect sunset over a vast area, then sleep under the stars on the included bedding and camping equipment. On the second day, enjoy a perfect start with a beautiful sunrise over the salt pan. Tuck into your breakfast, then make your way back to Kasane for drop-off at your hotel.

This is a must do if you are in Kasane. You see the animals from a different side. We had a very good guide. Unfortunately before the sundown back again.

Great safari, we saw a lot of animals from large to small. Always amazes me how the guide can recognize some animals from afar
