Full description
Shey Phoksundo National Park's main feature and one of Nepal's tourist destinations is Phoksundo Lake. This alpine freshwater oligotrophic lake is situated in the Dolpo area at an elevation of 3,612 meters/11,850 feet above sea level. Trekking to this altitude's deep blue lake allows you to experience nature's bounty while learning about the diverse cultures that exist in this amazing country. The lake's distinct color is a result of the Kanjiroba and Kanjirawla peaks melting.
Notably, the primary attraction has been the uniqueness of the culture and the immaculate state of this area. Because the still-practicing BonPo religion substitutes the experience of being in a place that has stood the test of time. While not as well-known as Everest, Annapurna, or Langtang, the location has been satisfying the needs of real travelers and entertaining a sizable number of tourists. Your tour will be energized by the incredible culture of the Dolpo area, which includes historic buildings with mani written on stone walls. Although it is a somewhat simpler path to take, don't discount it. The hike offers an endless array of experiences, including walking down the riverbank, seeing wildlife, a stunning glacier, hypnotic alpine forest, several waterfalls, and Ringmo Village—undoubtedly the highest community on Earth. Once at the lake, hikers and explorers are captivated by the breathtaking scenery that might keep them there for many days. One of the few things visitors to Phoksundo Lake shouldn't miss is a stroll along the immaculate and captivating lake's edge.
