This once-quiet fishing town now attracts yachts and tourists looking to admire the beautiful sea views from one of the many traditional Greek tavernas on the waterfront. • Finally, the last stop on the tour is the stunning Myrtos Beach, which is one of the most beautiful beaches on the island. Guests will be picked up from their resorts to connect with the ferry boat from the port of Agios Nikolaos, Skinari. At the start of the tour you will see the Venetian castle of St George's as we pass by. This was the capital of Kefalonia until the end of the 17th Century. First stop will be the monastery of St. Gerassimos, the patron of the Island who was known for his miraculous abilities to cure people with mental illness. The monastery is considered one of the most sacred pilgrimages in Kefalonia and is situated under the imposing Mount Ainos. Next we head to the impressive Drogarati Cave, located outside of Sami, with its fine stalactites & stalagmites. Experts estimate that the cave is about 150 million years old. Continuing on to Melissani Lake and Cave. Take a short boat trip on the lake located within the cave and experience the fantastic colors of the water as the sunlight is reflected through the open roof. Our next stop will be at the town of Aghia Efimia. You will have time here for lunch, a stroll or souvenir shopping. After we drive towards Argostoli along the west coast of the island and have a short photo stop at the viewpoint overlooking Myrtos Beach. This is followed by a short break in Argostoli for a nice stroll around the square. The ferry boat departs Kefalonia at 18.00 and arrives back in Zakynthos at approx. 19.45.
