Lee was the best guide ever! He was so helpful and informative. I was 45 minutes late to my tour and luckily Lee waited for me. Even though I was late, we were still able to see all the sites thanks to Lee. He also helped me with recommendations around Kanazawa and other cities. It was a great day I'll never forget!!
This tour is fabulous and our guide Mike was incredible. If you want a guide who offers a thorough understanding of history and contemporary Kanazawa and history go no further. Mike was educated, entertaining and brought the whole tour together. You will walk a lot on this tour but this means you see small back streets, hidden little temples, unique aspects of well known venues and he uses his local knowledge to great effect. The day covers samurai history, the background to the castle, beautiful tea ceremony, an inside view of a Geisha house, an inside view of preserved samurai residences, a factual and entertaining tour of the gardens and so much more. Make sure you wear comfortable shoes and weather appropriate clothing. This really is a 5 star experience

Meeting point
Meet outside the Shinkansen ticket gates, in front of the information center. If you are heading out from the gates, look forward and to the right and you will see four large sumo wrestlers, next to which you will meet your guide. If you're coming from outside the station, you will find the sumo wrestlers immediately inside the East Entrance of Kanazawa Station. You may wait nearby until the tour begins at 9:00 AM. Be sure to look for the guide wearing a Snow Monkey Resorts tour tag.
