Things to do in Kalamata

This experience was a highlight of our visit to Greece. We visited in November, during harvest season, so we were able to watch the harvesting crew and join in a little. We learned a lot about olives and olive oil production while we walked around the Castle of Androusia ruins, which is the meeting point for the tour even if the app tells you differently. Then we had a tour of the mill and how they make table olives and olive oil from the different olive varieties. Last, we sat in an old mill for the olive oil tasting and pairing. The host and the crew were professional and knowledgeable about the process, including how olive oils are graded. The pairing foods were homemade and delicious, and perfect with the olive oils. This experience was top notch and I haven't been able to stop telling people about it. I would recommend this to anyone looking for an immersive and fun experience.
