Troodos walking trip

5. Troodos walking trip

The itinerary of this tour is both flexible and customizable. It depends on the pick up place and on the combination of the chosen walks. The overall route will differ depending on the pick up location. Various stopping options include Kakopetria and the Agios Nicolaos tis Stegis painted church, accessible from Nicosia and listed as UNESCO World Heritage Sites. From other locations the itinerary would possibly include one of the Limassol wine villages. This tour may be customized to include a meal and wine tasting at a traditional village restaurant (if time permits this). The Walks: • Artemis trail (8 km / 5 miles, flat and easy) is the highest elevated trail in Cyprus, and covered with unique flora. When the weather is clear it offers excellent vistas to many parts of the island Myllomeris Waterfalls Trail ( 2.4 km / 1.5 mile, - 1.2 km each way, rather easy ) at an elevation of up to 1,000 m, this trail offers a radically different environment. The combination of the two trails offers a rich experience over a high elevation range in Cyprus.

7-8 km walk above Limassol

6. 7-8 km walk above Limassol

Kyparissia (meaning 'a place of cypresses') peak and locality has one of a few patches with high concentration of cypress trees in Cyprus. The walking route starts within thirty minutes by car from Limassol , and offers lovely vistas, especially towards the sea, from a distance of even under eight kilometers at places. One sees also significant numbers of Calabrian pines on the route, as well as a big number of other native plant species. What stands out along these trails are the vistas. On many stretches there are uninterrupted vistas towards the coast, as well as towards the manmade Germasoyeia lake (under three kilometers from some points along the route). Towards the north west especially, there are vistas of various peaks, one behind the other. The route is particularly attractive for those who do not want to travel far from Limassol. As the elevation lies between 500 to 700 meters, this short walk can be enjoyed also in summer, especially away from the hot, middle of the day.

Many thanks to Vladimir for an interesting tour! We traveled as a family with children almost individually with another couple, in a minivan. We visited the authentic mountain villages of Cyprus, the most interesting factories of sweets, roses, chocolate, a smokehouse and completed our trip with a delicious lunch in the beautiful village of Omodes! Vladimir was very attentive, sociable, he answered many questions of interest. Our trip left a lot of positive impressions and bright emotions! Thanks

A brilliant day in which we saw lots of the real Cyprus. Mountain villages were beautiful. We visited lots of small businesses and they were friendly and informative and we were given lots of free samples. Rose factory at Agros was fantastic. Chocolate tasting was brilliant. The tour guide was friendly and warm and very interesting. A very different type of trip that was unforgettable, would definitely recommend
