Troodos walking trip

Troodos walking trip

The core of this walking trip is comprised of two complementary walks on the top of Cyprus: Artemis trail and Myllomeris Waterfalls trail. It usually takes upto five hous to complete these, excluding long stops (eg picnics, a dip in the natural pool in front of the waterfall etc). Both of the trails are lovely and together present a side of Cyprus that escapes most visitors. Artemis trail (8 km / 5 miles, flat and easy) is the highest elevation trail in Cyprus, and covered with unique flora. It is barren on many stretches and characterised by black pines and endemic Troodos junipers. Usually it offers excellent vistas to many parts of the island and to coasts from Limassol to Morphou bay. Myllomeris Waterfalls Trail ( 2.4 km / 1.5 mile, - 1.2 km each way, rather easy ) at an elevation of up to 1,000 m, offers a radically different environment. It has typical vegetation of Cyprus valleys such as alder trees, bracken, maple, golden oaks, strawberry trees, storax and plane trees with impressive roots. At eleven meters, Myllomeris Waterfalls is the tallest in Cyprus, and probably the most scenic. There is a small, very inviting natural pool in front of the waterfall. A few visitors take a dip, even outside summer, at times when the water temperature is rather cold. The combination of the two trails offers a rich experience over a high elevation range in Cyprus (1,000 to 2,000 meters). Being private, means that the trip can be customised, subject to customer profile, preferences and time availability.

The tour was great. Well organized. An excellent guide and a driver. Clean and safe bus. Everything was on time and went smoothly. Some people may consider this tour too long, but it depends on where you are staying. In our case, we were last to get on the bus, but the first to get off. We didn't have a lot of time in Famagusta, but that was the group decision to stay shorter. But still, we had time to go around, have lunch and buy baklavas. I would recommend this tour.

What an amazing trip. Olga our guide was fantastic. She gave us so much background information about Famagusta. She really made this visit so interesting because she is so knowledgeable. It was a fabulous day out and I would recommend it 100%. You would be missing out if you don’t do this trip. Great organisation.

Everything was very good, the guide was informative, the driver was very careful, I only waned more time in Famagusta since it was enough only for walk or lunch but not for both

Everything was fine. A little longer in Salamis would have been good. Varosha was depressing and the border control was lengthy. But that's exactly what I wanted to see.

The guide was very informative throughout the trip, tastes of Cyprus very varied. Loved the areas we went to !! 8 hours was a long day but worth it !
