Our tour guides Mako and Nao were super fantastic!!! They shared the beauty, history and very special highlights of this lovely place. We saw the beautiful coastline and fish farms known for Amberjack, we enjoyed a hot spring sand bath and hot spring hot tub and sauna experience (very relaxing for muscles and joints) highly recommended!!! They helped us order lunch at a local place know for cold noodles and fish. I regret not trying the dried Bonito fish as I learned later that the region is well known for this and probably only place in the world. Beautiful mountain drive. They also presented us with several nice gifts souvenirs and a lovely thank you letter. Mako and Nao are truly very special people and wonderful ambassadors for Kagoshima and Japan. ❤️
The sand bath and onsen experience at Ibusuki was super fun and interesting! A great experience especially for noobs! There were lots of instructions everywhere to guide you on how to go about enjoying the place. It was nice visiting the local souvenir store where we got to try local Katsuo shavings mixed with miso soup and other local snacks. We also got a chance to try the katsuo shaving itself! Definitely try your best to catch the somen after dropping it in the spinning water! Super tasty and yummy! Get the sets for a good chance to try a little of everything! Mako and Coco both were very passionate about sharing with us more about Kagoshima!
We had a really fun time on our tour to Ibusuki. The sand bath and onsen experience was something special and having somebody guide us through it sure made things easier. If your in Kagoshima, you must try it. For lunch we went to get Somen at a really cool place - pictures and videos don’t do it justice. The food was excellent and quite affordable. On our way back we made a stop at Lake Ikeda, where we could roam around and buy some nice souvenirs. Our guide Kinuko really went out of her way to give as a great experience and she also provided us with tips for other activities in the region. Can totally recommend!
The guide, the driver, the vehicle, and the tour were perfect. Very friendly at all times, and the tour was very interesting. An excellent way to visit Kagoshima and its surroundings.
It was so fun and exhilarating. It gave me the feeling of cycling up a volcano that I will never forget.
