Full description

Embark on a full-day guided tour to Jungfraujoch from Interlaken. Enjoy a panoramic cable car ride, take in the views of Europe from the Sphinx Observation Terrace, and explore the tunnels of the Ice Palace.

Begin your excursion with a coach journey from Interlaken to the mountain resort of Grindelwald. Board the cable car at the Grindelwald Terminal for a spectacular ride to the Eiger Glacier. Change to a cogwheel train that will take you to the peak of Jungfraujoch.

When you reach the top, marvel at the high-alpine wonderland of eternal ice, snow, and rock. Experience the Alpine Sensation adventure tour marking the 100th anniversary of the Jungfrau Railway.

Visit the Sphinx Observation Terrace and Plateau for breathtaking panoramic views of snow-capped peaks, neighboring countries, and the Aletsch Glacier. Walk through the tunnels of the Ice Palace at the heart of the glacier. Restaurants are available for meals and refreshments.

During the descent, pass the holiday resort Wengen and stop at Lauterbrunnen, where the coach awaits for your return trip to Interlaken.

The activity was really nice until the end. The way it looked we would get to walk around and see the water falls but they had us get straight off a busy train that we couldn’t see out the windows well and straight into the tour bus and NEVER got to see the waterfalls.

It was a great experience all in all, but we had to wait 30min in a long queue to get into the elevator for the sphinx and then another 30min to get down, so basically half of our time there was spent waiting on a queue. There should be more than two hours free time to the top since the elevator were malfunctioning. The location was majestic to say the least and we wish we had more free time there to enjoy the view.

Very cold but we expected that. 7 full hours of travel and beautiful views. Used Eiger Express route. Every step was well planned. Lots of food, bathrooms and shopping opportunities. Beware there is a lot of walking and some stairs. Wear layers. We ate lunch at the moderate restaurant. It was very good but not cheap. You will be at an altitude of about 11,000 ft. So oxygen is about 60% of sea level. Plan to be a bit winded. Guides speak many languages. This was one of the most organized excursions I have been on. Guides were always where they said to meet up at the right time. A wonderful experience. 12 year old enjoyed herself as did I at 72. My 42 year old daughter liked the trip also.
