Lima: Peruvian Cooking Class, Market Tour & Exotic Fruits
Our tour guide will pick you up and take you to a local market in Surquillo district. We will visit different stands accompained by our guide who will explain all about the Peruvian food culture. Then, we will go to our kitchen in Miraflores to start cooking. The cooking class includes snacks, fruits festival, 1 starter and 1 main dish. Option 1: - Ceviche (Starter): Prepared with fresh fish marinated with tiger's milk, a mixture of fish juice, lemon, chili, onion, cilantro, garlic and spices, which gives it a unique intensity of flavor. Tiger's milk not only enhances the flavor of the fish, but also creates a perfect marinade that brings out the spiciness and acidity. It is accompanied by onions, sweet potato and corn, generating an explosion of freshness and textures in every bite. - Pescado a la Chorrillana (Main dish): Fried fish fillet, covered with an exquisite sauce made from onions, tomatoes, garlic, and chili peppers, which provides an intensity of unique and authentic flavors. This delicious dish is accompanied by soft sweet potatoes and fluffy rice, creating a perfect combination of textures and aromas that delight the palate. Option 2: - Papa Rellena (Starter): A refined Peruvian classic, this dish features velvety mashed potatoes filled with a savory mixture of seasoned ground beef, onions, olives, and hard-boiled eggs. The stuffed potatoes are delicately fried to a golden crisp, creating a perfect balance between the crisp exterior and tender, flavorful interior. A true expression of Peruvian comfort food at its finest. - Lomo Saltado (Main dish): An emblematic dish that fuses Chinese and Peruvian influences. Option 3: - Causa (Starter): Delicately prepared layers of mashed potatoes, seasoned with lemon, yellow chili, salt and oil. And accompanied by a select mix of vegetables and quinoa. Its colorful presentation and combination of flavors make it a popular starter in Peruvian cuisine. - Ají de Pollo (Main dish): It is prepared with shredded chicken breast, cooked in a thick sauce made with yellow chili and spices. Its texture is enriched with cheese and nuts, adding depth to the flavor.
