The Monkey Park was well worth the trip as a unique experience. Okochi Sanso Villa was a cultivated garden of splendor- so perfectly staged by a wealthy actor that it could have been a movie set. Arashiyama city itself was fascinating and packed with high schoolers on their school trip in their kimonos which gave an air of festivity and fun. Our tour guide Tess was fun and energetic- we couldn’t have asked for a better companion for the day.

Our guide was AMAZING and was very knowledgeable about the area and Japan itself. My brother and I had lots of questions and she was able to give sufficient answers. She also was able to fit in all the sights we wanted to see in Arashiyama! I highly recommend!
