See animals in the wild on a full-day safari to Kruger National Park from Johannesburg, and look for the legendary "Big 5" of Africa by open-top or closed-top vehicle. Learn more about one of Africa's largest game reserves from a registered guide.
What to Expect
Depart Johannesburg, O.R. Tambo International Airport or Pretoria early in the morning and drive towards the Kruger National Park. Stop for breakfast en route in the Middelburg/Witbank area, and enjoy an additional coffee break in Nelspruit at around 08:00.
After a journey of approximately 5 hours, check-in at the gate of the Kruger National Park and start your day of game driving in one of the largest game reserves in Africa. Travel by open-top or closed-top safari vehicle (depending on option booked) looking for the "Big 5" of the African lion, African elephant, Cape buffalo, African leopard and rhinoceros. Spend about 2 hours searching for game and other wildlife before a lunch break at the Afsaal picnic area or one of the rest camps.
Then, enjoy another short game drive after lunch as you head for the exit gate. Your guide will aim to leave Kruger National Park at around 13:00 for the drive back to Johannesburg or Pretoria. Arrivals in Johannesburg are usually around 18:00 at the end of the tour services.
