Upon arrival, we were greeted with refreshing drinks-a delightful water infused with lemon and papaya, alongside a homemade hibiscus tea with ginger-that perfectly set the tone for the evening. The chef then treated us to a spectacular culinary journey, preparing several amazing dishes inside the kitchen, followed by three succulent meat dishes grilled outdoors. Each dish was a masterpiece, and I can confidently say it was the best meal I had during my entire stay in Johannesburg. We concluded the evening gathered around the kitchen table, illuminated by candlelight, savoring the scrumptious meal while enjoying delightful conversations. This experience is highly recommended for anyone looking to immerse themselves in authentic Pan-African flavors combined with heartfelt hospitality and a unique cultural vibe. It truly felt like a night to remember.

I had the best time with Dylan! We started with a walk around the neighborhood and he shared the history of it and what they are doing to foster community there. It was wonderful to see a different side of Joburg and we stopped at the market for refreshments. While cooking, we chatted about food, life, culture, and our experiences learning to cook. He was kind enough to print the recipes and teach me how to pronounce the names. The food was delicious and amazing; I had a great time cooking with Dylan. I ate sooo much!! And can hardly wait to get home and feed my friends and family the delicious Zulu food I learned to cook. Thanks for a fantastic afternoon Dylan. I would definitely recommend this to people who love cooking and learning about cultures through food.

Nkululeko was a great hostess! We had great conversation and great food. Bongani also was a great addition. The chicken he bbq’d and sausage he grilled was phenomenal! We learned so much from the walk through the neighborhood to the history lesson Nkululeko gave us. We really enjoyed ourselves and I’m glad we had the Zulu and Xhosa cooking experience. I would definitely do it again!

We had an amazing experience with Chef Tee! Even better than we expected! He made us fell right at home and definitely created a vibe for us and taught us so much about the South African food we were making. Not only did we make wonderful dishes but it was all very delicious!
