My brother and I bought the 96-Hour I amsterdam City Card while in the Netherlands on vacation and were glad we did. It made navigating the public transport system easy as the card allows unlimited access to all GVB lines. It was also awesome to receive free entry/discounts into some of the top attractions (our favorites were the Rijksmuseum, the Artis (aka the zoo), and Madame Tussauds). The only two struggles we had were: (1) it was not immediately obvious where to go to pick up our cards as it turns out the office is not in central station itself but in a white building in front of central station (on the right if you are looking at central station); and (2) we did not realize the card only allowed access to GVB lines, so we accidentally got on a sprinter and then needed help from security to get out of central station as our cards did not work on the gates in that part of the station. Obviously these problems were mostly user error though so we still recommend the card highly!
The Museumplein with anchors - Rjicksmuseum & Van Gogh Museum were awesome!! The architecture of Amsterdam along with the canal system is a real tribute to historic preservation in process. The green space such as Vondelpark & other squares with interurban spots to find shade on bicycle tours are appreciated! The Rembrandt House & Old Towne / Red Light District with all the unique differences from Churches to demonstration art is illustrative of your policy of tolerance. Our hotel - Apollo - overlooked the intersection of five canals which gave us ab aerial perspective of crew skulls rowing to canal tours and personal watercraft for pleasure & work. We had wished we had more time before our cruise up the Rhine River. We hope to return to your lovely city with Culture - History & People to explore more with I Amsterdam Pass!! Gemutlichkeit!!
Easy to collect, easy to use (all places involved accepted it with no queries), helped us to visit lots of places avoiding queues and mounting up costs. It ultimately saved us easily over 50Euro each with how much we used the 48 hour card. Considering the timings and how we accessed, we actually got 54 hours out of it and timings worked perfectly for our 3 day trip. So handy to have travel included too.
This was my second time visiting Amsterdam and using the iAmsterdam card. It was really easy to get around via public transportation with the card. It also included free tours/discounts on many of the must visit places. This is definitely highly recommended to get around when visiting Amsterdam.
We found the iamsterdam card to be great value and very easy to use. Had a lovely stay and visited a number of attractions using the card. Only thing that could improve it would be places displaying the logo to let you know the take the card as entry or offer a discount.
