Muscat: Full-Day Nizwa Tour with Audio Guiding

1. Muscat: Full-Day Nizwa Tour with Audio Guiding

Get picked up from your hotel and head to the Shatti Al-Qurum hotel where the tour begins. Your driver will show you how to use the audio guide system to benefit the GPS enabled commentary (available in five languages) that follows the tour. Travel towards to Nizwa, Oman’s cultural capital and home to some of its most significant structures. Along the way, stop at a charming ancestral village called Birka Al Mawz, which sits at the base of Jebel Akhdar (Green Mountain). In Nizwa, admire the central fort and its giant cannon tower; walk through the traditional souq (market); and, of course, enjoy a local restaurant for lunch. After lunch, visit the unique Jabreen Castle, built in the 17th century. It has magnificent plasterwork, carved doors, and painted wooden beams. You'll also see Jebel Shams—one of the most famous mountains in Oman—and one of the oldest towns in the region, Oman Bahla, before heading back to your hotel.

This was a full day trip and it was very enjoyable. I wasn’t sure if I would like an audio guide for a tour of this length but it was actually very informative. The driver was amazing. Very professional and polite. He made sure we had enough time at each stop so that everyone was satisfied. Highly recommend!!

My experience was great and well worth it. I did things, like picking dates directly from the palm trees, and that was so gratifying to me. The weather at this time is brutally hot, nevertheless, the beauty of the places remain. I had very wonderful experiences.

Great day trip to Nizwa. In my case, I was the only participant of the day, which led to a private tour at the price point of a group tour. Great explanation throughout the whole day and no rush.

Nice outing, Nizwa as such is of little interest but two very beautiful castles on the way back and very beautiful landscapes. In addition driver guide super

Bon voyage! It's not the tour operator's fault that Nizwa isn't quite as exciting. But the rest of the stations are very interesting!
