Visit one of the most remarkable areas in the Southwest, the Red Rocks of Sedona, on a day tour from Phoenix. Travel back in time to the Montezuma Castle National Monument. Departing from Phoenix, travel along the banks of Beaver Creek to reach a Sinagua Indian cliff dwelling. Stop at the visitor center to see beads, pottery, and tools used by this long-lost culture. Admire models which help you understand what life was like for the Sinagua Indians 1000 years ago. Next, head to the amazing red rocks of Sedona. Find yourself surrounded by such famous rock formations as Bell Rock and Cathedral Rock and experience the serene beauty of Oak Creek Canyon. Continue towards uptown Sedona, a shopper’s delight. Finally, drive up Mingus Mountain to the turn-of-the-century mining town of Jerome, a former ghost town that is now a thriving mountainside village. Enjoy free time to visit the many shops and galleries or grab a photo of Sedona from above before beginning the journey back to Phoenix.

Discover Arizona’s unique heritage on a day trip from Sedona. After pickup at your hotel, head to the Tuzigoot National Monument by the Verde River. Learn about the people who once occupied this settlement as you explore the ancient Sinagua ruin. Continue to Jerome, a former mining town now home to a vibrant community of artists. Enjoy lunch at your own expense before touring the sights. Admire the quirky homes built into the side of the Black Hills, and learn the folklore of this haunted town. See relics from the town’s mining days and enjoy some time to check out the local boutiques or shop for arts and crafts. Start your adventure in Craters of the Moon National Monument & Preserve at the Visitor Center. There you will see a short, seven minute movie about Craters of the Moon and get an overview of how this unique landscape was created. Enjoy exhibits including a hands on topographical map of the region, Native American history, geologic exhibits as well as animal and plant life in the monument, gift shop for souvenirs and books. National Park passport stamp are located here. Throughout your adventure tour, travel in a luxury vehicle around the seven mile scenic loop road and enjoy pullouts for scenery and photo opportunities all along the way. Take a 1/4 mile walk across a paved pathway through the monoliths of the North Crater Flow, one of the Monument's youngest lava flow areas, for up close views and interpretive information. Stroll through Devils Orchard for strange features of this volcanic "island". This 1/2 mile paved walk provides interpretive information about our impact on this delicate landscape and the preservation efforts underway to save it. Hike up Inferno Cone for a 360 degree view of the entire monument with views of the fissures of the Great Rift, the 52 mile long occurrence that created this beautiful geologic feature. At the Cave Area, take a break for a delicious sack lunch while your interpretive guide prepares you for a spectacular experience venturing into an ancient lava tube at Indian Tunnel. Craters of the Moon National Monument and Preserve abounds with flora and fauna appearing in different stages throughout the year, so be on the lookout for some of the unique plants and animals that call this beautiful place home!
