Full description
The Mile 5 trip is our most popular trip and the one with the longest season, early May-late September. We meet in the town of Jasper and transport you only 8 km south of town to the put in point. After suiting up in clean dry wetsuits and a safety talk it is off to the river. The section begins with about a 10-minute float. This allows the paddler time to feel comfortable in the raft, experience the river environment and take in the 360-degree Mountain View. After this short float the grade 2 rapids begin. Grade 2 is big enough to get everyone who wants to get wet, wet but it is unlikely anyone will go for an unexpected/unwanted swim. If you are brave enough there are place you can choose to go for a swim in the glacial water. After 4 or 5 sections of rapids the Miette River joins the Athabasca and the trip ends just around the corner at Old Fort Point. After getting out of your wet gear it is a 3 km drive back to town. All trips are in 8-person rafts with a licensed river guide.

Great - ideal for families with kids

The registration in the office of the organizer was a bit bumpy as we could not be found in the system. So it was good that we happened to be in the office instead of at the meeting point. After that, everything went fine. Since we were 8P (4E / 4kids) we had our own boat and the guide (Marion) could see which rapids (all very easily 1-2) she could trust us. This tour is ideal for everyone with kids or beginners. The equipment on site was okay, we got neoprene and a rain cape - there was also a fleece sweater for the kids. If you wanted, you even had time to jump into the ice-cold river at the end. The organizer took photos of the boats and sold them for $ 30 per series - I think that is also cheaper with digital photos (or you can price it in and add the photos for free). Important for rafting: swimwear for under the neoprene, dry / warm clothes for afterwards. Extra socks!

Our guide went out of his way to ensure we had a terrific time!!

We were a group of 7 adults and 6 children (ages 4 to 8). Everyone had a terrific time and loved the whole experience. The advantages of being divided into 8 person rafts are endless. Everyone got to be involved and participate in the thrills of rafting. Other companies I have used use bigger rafts and the experience is muted compared to our this trip. I highly recommend this experience and the Jasper Rafting Adventures company. Thank you all for being such pros!!

Organization was good and ran smoothly. Very nice guide, open to questions and very communicative. Equipment was provided, including socks for the neoprene shoes. The rafting was not particularly exhausting, also suitable for smaller children. 30 CAD at the end for a USB stick with all the photos I found a bit exaggerated
