Full description
Upon arrival at Jaisalmer Airport, Jaisalmer Junction Railway Station or the bus station, you will be greeted by your English-speaking driver at your selected departure time. You can also be picked up at your hotel in Jaisalmer to start this full-day sightseeing tour of Jaisalmer city. Your first stop will be the Jaisalmer Fort, a fort famously known as the Golden Fort of Rajasthan. It was constructed by Raja Jaisal, the Rajput ruler in the year 1156 A.D., and ranks amongs the largest forts in the world. The golden and yellow mixed sandstone give the fort a magical appearance, with the fort itself rising from the desert sands like a mirage. The fort is a real sight to behold, complete with its 99 turrets. The fort stands tall and proud, displaying the magic of Rajasthani architecture. After the fort, you will visit Bada Bagh, Patwon Ki Haveli, the Thar Heritage Museum and Gadisar Lake. After the city tour is complete, you will head out to Sam for a camel safari in the Thar Desert. A traditional Camel Safari is one of the most spectacular and unique ways to experience Rajasthan. Camels are the ships of the deserts, and will guide you through this incredible landscape. You will spend approximately 1-2 hours in the Thar Desert before enjoying a mesmerizing sunset. At the conclusion of your tour, you will be returned to your point of origin in Jaisalmer.

Shameful and this was due to the guide. Called him "Harry." The guide was NOT aware of the program and the duration. His only interest was telephoning and dumping us as quickly as possible, that is, after he had guided us to 'his' shops to pick up his commission. No visit to Bada Bagh, Patwon Ki Haveli and Thar Heritage Museum (but a museum of the same name where we were allowed to pay the entrance ourselves). The guide suggested spending the rest of the afternoon as a "free visit" without supervision. After lunch the guide got out of the car and we were left to the driver of the car. To pass the time an improvised visit was made to the Kuldhara village (nothing to see except an accumulation of old stones) and then to end up in the Thar desert (very worthwhile but then the guide had disappeared for hours). We could have saved the money from this organized (?) Trip. Never again.
