Full description
Start your first day by meeting up with your guide in Izmir. Then you will visit Smyrna, home of great 2nd century Bishop Policarp who was burned alive at the age of 85. It was the second city to receive a letter from the Apostle John in the book of Revelation (Acts 19:10). Visit the agora of Smyrna and Church of Polycarp here. Your second stop on this tour is Thyatira, which was one of the Seven Churches (Revelation 1:11;2:18-28). Then continue to Pergamon, where you will see the Acropolis, Temple of Athena, Serapis Temple, Heroon, Sanctuary of Athena, Library of Pergamon, Temple of Trajan, Theatre, Zeus Altar and Red Court. Pergamon is the third of the ‘Seven Churches of Asia’ (Rev.1:11). This was the place of Satan’s throne ( Rev. 2:13). Drive back to Izmir and enjoy a stay overnight here.

On your second day, travel to Sardes, another of the Seven Churches of Revelation. Sardis was the capital city of ancient Lydia. See the early church remaining in Sardis (Sardis Gymnasium, Jewish Synagogue, Diana Temple). Then proceed to Philadelphia (Alasehir). Philadelphia (brotherly love) is not so ancient as many other cities of Asia Minor, it was founded after 189 BC. After visiting Philadelphia, you will stay overnight in Pamukkale. On the third day, visit Pamukkale and Laodicea. Visit the Christian ruins as well as the statue of Emperor Augustus, the Aquaduct and the Stadium. The book of Colossians was addressed to the Church here (Col 1:2)! After the tour drive to Kusadasi, which will take about 3 hours and stay overnight.

On your 4th and last day, visit Ephesus, House of Virgin Marry and Basilica of St John. St. Paul visited Ephesus briefly during his second missionary journey and stayed there more than three years. Both Paul and Apostle John wrote letters to the Ephesians. Also visit the Baths of Scholastica, Library of Celsus, Temple of Hadrian, the Theater and the Temple of Artemis, which was one of the seven wonders of the ancient world. Your second stop will be the Basilica of St. John where you will see the burial place of St. John. Then, visit the House of Mother Mary. Visit Sirince Village and have lunch in a Local House. After the tour you will be taken to Kusadasi for an overnight stay or transfer back to the airport.
