Your tour will begin when you set sail from your meeting point at the pier of Iquitos Boulevard, cruising down the three main rivers surrounding the city of Iquitos: Itaya, Amazonas, and Nanay.  Once you’re out on the Amazon, you might see dolphins and red buffaloes swimming around you. You’ll then continue on past the city before stopping to meet the indigenous community of the Kukama, where you’ll have the chance to get to know their dances and customs and to learn about their culture.  After the visit, you’ll take a walk along the shore of the community of Father Cocha and learn about the curious history of its founder. In a nearby location, you’ll visit the Pilpintuwasi, a butterfly farm where you'll learn about the life cycles and breeding habits of these beautiful creatures. When the tour ends, you’ll return by boat to Iquitos Boulevard.

Learn the truth about the iconic piranhas of the Amazon on a fishing trip in Iquitos. No need for fancy equipment, hook a line and throw it in from a canoe and wait for the fish to come to you. Fish from a canoe using handmade rods like a local on the Itaya River. Climb aboard as your private guide takes you to the best spots to fish for the famed red Amazon piranha. This mythical fish with a bad reputation is not quite the monster Hollywood likes to make it out to be. Around 20-25cm long, with a bright red underbelly, piranhas generally share Amazon waterways quite peacefully with humans. Enjoy an exciting new experience and leave Iquitos to visit the incredible "Isla de Los Monos, where rescued monkeys are rehabilitated. See the curious and friendly monkeys before moving on to a piranha, lizard, and arapaima farm for a visit. Begin the experience with hotel pickup in Iquitos near the Plaza de Armas, and travel for approximately 30 km to reach the Isla de Los Monos rescue center for monkeys. Navigate down the Itaya River and admire the view on the way. Learn more about the rescue, where monkeys are rehabilitated and returned to the wild. Meet 7 different species, including Howler, Tití, Maquisapa, Tocón, Leoncito, Spider, and the friendly Choro Monkeys. Voyage down the Amazon River for about two hours, and make your way to a farm where lizards, piranhas, and arapaima are raised. Learn about the farming process, and see where the animals are kept. Enjoy an optional visit to the Yagua peoples of the Amazon, depending on the season. spot dolphins while traveling down the river, also depending on the season. Start the return journey up the Amazon, and relax on the boat for about three hours before returning to the pier in Iquitos.
