Depart from Seville and journey a few minutes north to the village of Santiponce, the site of one of the most important and largest Roman ruins in Spain. Upon arrival at the well-preserved ruins of the Roman city of Italica, discover wonderful examples of Roman architecture, mosaic work and city layouts. Founded in the year 206 BC by General Publius Cornelius Scipio as a place of settlement for soldiers wounded in the battle of Illipa, the Roman settlement of Italica is the oldest in Spain and served as an important military outpost. Its name references the first settlers who came from Italy, and it was the birthplace of Marcus Ulpius Trajan (53 AD) and his successor, Aelius Hadrian (76 AD). Marvel at the massive amphitheater, one of the largest in the Roman Empire with a seating capacity for up to 25,000 people. Wander through the tunnels where the gladiators would have walked and sta...
Bring a hat! The sun is intense in the summer and there are not a lot of trees. If you are a nerd for Roman Ruins and history, like me, this is a fantastic site to tour. But if you are expecting more than ruins, then go straight to the Monastery. Loved everything about this tour except for the fact that due to COVID the tunnels and second story of the arena were closed to visitors. Definitely a disappointment, but not the fault of the guide/touring company. The guide was extremely knowledgeable and filled in any gaps that I had regarding the history of both the ancient Roman site and the monastery.
Discover the archaeological ensemble of Itálica on this tour of sites used as sets on the HBO TV series “Game of Thrones”. You can learn the history of this Roman city, as you follow in the footsteps of all your favorite characters. Your guide will meet you at the main entrance of the ancient city. From here, you will have a short introduction to the history of this legendary and old city, visiting some of the "domus" where the roman citizens used to live 2,000 years ago. Itálica also has one of the best collections of mosaics in Spain. The Roman Amphitheater is the greatest building in this complex, and is most famous filming location visited on this tour. Who could have imagined that 20 centuries after its creation, huge dragons would be flying over the ruins while Jon Snow, Daenerys, Cersei, and a dozen other characters met to hash out their differences in the face of the greater en...
Itallica is well worth a visit and within easy access of Seville. Our guide was very well informed and gave us plenty of information on our 60 minute tour.

A great half-day tour. Our guide Maria Reyes was very knowledgeable and made the tour fun. Our tour bus was divided into a Spanish Tour and an English tour so our group was just 6 people plus Maria, so the tour felt more like a private one.
The guide is very good, I think his name is Gabriel. The visit was in Spanish although I had purchased it in Italian but he helped us by translating.
It was a very interesting trip. Our guide, Enrique is the best. He gave us a lot of informations; kids admired him, too.
Very interesting, good and helpful guide, we hope the excavations continue!
Miguel was an outstanding guide we really enjoyed the tour
