What to Expect
Turkey is a marvel. From the ancient history, to the modern cities, it is a place that is filled with adventures. Our two day tour takes you back to the history of World War I when the Australians and New Zealand troops took over the Anzac Cove for their eight month siege at the Battle of Gallipoli. We'll also visit Troy to step even further back in the wartime history of Turkey - all the way to the Trojan war!
The tour will be broken into two days.
Day 1: Istanbul - Canakkale
Lunch and dinner are both included on today's trip. We'll depart early from Istanbul and head for Gallipoli. We will stop along the way to visit Anzac Cove, the home to the Australian and New Zealand troops, before heading on to the Lone Pine Cemetery, which was the name given to the solitary tree on the Gallipoli Peninsula in 1915 during the fighting here. We'll have a chance to pay homage at the Nek and Hunuk Bair New Zealand memorial. Around 18.30 we will arrive in Canakkale where we will stay overnight.
Day 2: Troy - Gallipoli - Istanbul
After your included breakfast, we'll depart for Troy, most famous for the Trojan Horse that the Greeks used to break into this famed city while trying to save Helen. After a lovely tour here, we'll return to Canakkale for a free afternoon, or some documentary films, if your'e interested! We'll depart for Istanbul around 18.00 and arrive around 23.00.
