the tour was good but not great...we tasted a lot of things and got full with too many drinks plus the portions were very generous so ended up having no space for the final tastings which were the best, even though we went with an empty stomach. The guide was very informative so nothing to complain on that but after all the great reviews we read and the price we paid for the tour I was expecting to try all the local delicacies rather than the most common ones. As foodies we were not impressed

I’ve done food tours in a number of different countries, but this one was exceptional! From the moment Salih met us at the ferry and shared both his knowledge and interesting stories with us, I knew that it was going to be a fun evening. Most of the tour was on the Asian side of Istanbul which we hadn’t explored until Sahil took us to his favourite places to eat a variety of mouth watering dishes! He explained the significance of the food and flavors while getting to know us. Because a few of us were vegetarians. Sahil ordered more vegetarian dishes while sharing getting to know us and sharing interesting anecdotes. I can still taste the yummy pickles, spicy lentil soup, mussels, milk baklava and fruity Shisha! Don’t miss this since it will likely be one of the highlights of your trip. 10/10!!! It wouldn’t have been the same without Sahil who was the perfect guide and felt like an old friend by the end.

I highly recommend this tour. Salith is a very wonderful and knowledgeable host. You will get to try various local dishes that you would not have known if you were not guided by a local. By the time the tour was over, we were so stuffed. Do not miss this tour.
