This is a fantastic tour. FIVE STARS!!!! Not only is all the food interesting and delicious, but the tour takes you through a very local and non-touristy area of Istanbul. There is even a couple ferry rides. Sahil was very knowledgable and there is a great variety of food and education on Istanbul and the culture.

The experience was fantastic. Onder, my guide was very knowledgeable about all the different foods we tasted. The history and origin of them. He also had a tremendous knowledge of the area of Istanbul, the history of the mosques and churches of the area as well as other significant land marks. I would highly recommend this tour to anyone coming to Istanbul, even if you only have one night. It’s worth it.

Being a travel agent, I always advise my clients to book a local guide especially with a short stay in a city. We only had 24 hours in wonderful Istanbul so wanted to ensure we saw as much as possible. Onder was an excellent guide, we travelled across the Bosphorous Strait and spent time being taken around the local food market, sampling food and drink as we went. He is very knowledgeable both historically and culturally and the tour was everything we expected and more. I had specified I was a vegetarian and this request was catered for with no issues. Communication from GYG was great and overall 10/10 for our whistlestop city break.
