There was a minor hiccup in getting my card delivered to the hotel. They would ask for your hotel address at check out but you’d still need to email them your hotel address. I find it such an unnecessary step since I’ve already input the address at checkout.

The Istanbul Welcome Card is a great way to introduce the city to anyone who has not visited before. You can use the museum pass and travel card along with the optional guided tours as flexibly as you wish. The two guided tours led by Emre of the Topkapi Palace and Hagia Sophia were both very good giving a fascinating insight into the history of these sites and their features. One criticism is the instructions for activating the travel card via SMS text. This is not necessary and unless you have a Turkish registered phone number is not possible. The code you require is the HES code which is supplied on completion of the visitor locator form which you must complete before entry to Turkey - no SMS text is required.

Cards delivered to our hotel as promised. The tour guides were excellent with the Museum Pass and very knowledgeable and friendly. The Istanbul card easy to use on the public transport all over the city. I recommend to everybody to get these cards, they make your life a lot easier. 10/10 Thank you!
