    Know before you go

    • Topkapi Palace is closed on Tuesdays. The Whirling Dervishes perform on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays and children under the age of 7 may not be permitted
    • Some attractions require reservations. Download the Istanbul Tourist Pass app to do so
    • All attractions are single entry, except the Boat Tour which is valid for 1 day or 1 full loop
    • All children will be asked to present their valid passport at the entrance of the museums in order to validate their age

    - we found it difficult to find out how it works. The time tables, locations and how to get most out of the card. - after doing some research we where able to use the card probably. - guides are good and have a lot of historical knowledge in the guided tours. - be careful that you can only visit the guided tours, with the guide there is no only entrance included.

    The guide is easy to use with great support via WhatsApp. It paid for itself easily. The guided tours were informative, not too long and generally allowed free time afterwards to enjoy the attraction. Only issue was that it kept logging me out and it was a faff to get the user name, type it in and log in. Never figured out how to use the card for Galatea Tower though. Only criticism was the partners they used. I booked two trips, the guide on the full day trip was really rude. The second guide on the half day trip clearly didn’t want to take me, firstly she told me there was construction and Miniaturk was closed (this was after driving me around various hotels for picks ups for 90 minutes). When she eventually did agree to take me there was no construction and the park was clearly fully open. During the tour she was on her phone the entire time, walked ahead only said three things to me :-1. 10 minutes, 2. 10 minutes, 3 1 hour.

    In general we have had a good experience with the Touristic Pass, as there are many options for different tastes. Obviously there is not enough time to do all the options, but you are organizing every day what can be done in the same area to make better use of the pass and the time. Something to keep in mind is in the Saphire Tower in the Touristic Pass it says that both going up to see the 365º views and the 4D projection are included, but when you get there they try to charge you for the 4D projection. The schedules for the hop-on hop-off Bosforos Boat are also not very clear since the Tourist Pass page puts very few schedules and then you arrive there at the port of Kabatas where they are usually taken and there are many more schedules. And with more schedules you can organize and make better use of the day. I could have taken the boat in the morning and be back at 15:30 to visit Dolmabace Palace at that time, throughout the afternoon. Those that seem like little things make you win
