The experience

  • Learn the history along the shores of the Bosphorus

Full description
You will meet your guide at 7:45PM at the entrance of the Spice Bazaar. Following a few minutes’ walk, your guide will take you to your private boat which will depart from the pier at the Golden Horn. From here you will cruise on the Bosphorus, a legendary waterway which is as dazzlingly beautiful now as it was in antiquity. No visit to Istanbul is complete without a cruise along its physical and spiritual heart, the glistening waters that link Europe to Asia and join the Black Sea and the Sea of Marmara. You will be served the delicious Turkish common street food “Balık Ekmek” (fish and chips) on board while you are enjoying the view of the shores of the Bosphorus on both the Asian and European sides. From your cruise boat, you will view the dramatic sights lining along the Bosphorus’ wooded shores: mosques, a bridge that for a time was the world’s longest, and Rumeli Hisarı, a massive fortress built by Mehmet the Conqueror in just three months as he prepared to take Istanbul. Also noteworthy on this tour are the 19th-century mansions of the Ottoman elite and the Sultans’ fanciful gingerbread palaces and hunting lodges. At the end of this delicious and historical sightseeing you will be end up at the same location where your boat departed, marking the end of your tour.

it was a lovely ride with amazing views. there were a few issues though. one the chilly sea breeze that brought me inside the boat so I missed out on quite a few things. then the sandwich that they offered us was not really tasty. (however the thought to offer us something is really worthy of praise.)

Forget the fish sandwich. The cruise is short but good

The boat is comfortable and the guide is entertaining. It was much shorter than the 150 indicated just above one hour on the water, but you see all splendor at sunset and at night. The fish sandwich is not good and the chips are probably the worst we have tried in a long time. If the name of the activity were not “fish and chips cruise” it would be less embarrassing. Tame you expectations on that and you will be fine

Highly Recommended

I always wished to see Bosphorus mentioned in mithology. Because of that I participated this tour. My experince was as I dreamed. The fish & chips was delicious. Our guide was so kind that answered all the questions that was asked. We went all the way untill Rumeli Fortress... Thank you
