Visit the ancient Greek city of Ephesus on a full-day tour departing from Istanbul. See the amazing Temple of Artemis, walk among the ruins once home to Socrates and even visit Kuşadası - the birthplace of Homer.
What to Expect
Your tour begins with a night bus to Kuşadası - the birthplace of Homer - before your departure for the archaeological site of Ephesus. Renowned as one of the twelve cities of the Ionian League during the classical Greek period, Ephesus was also one of the Book of Revelation’s “Seven Churches of Anatolia.”
You will have the chance to explore the city’s Marble Street, Odeon, Bouleterion, Temple of Hadrian and Serapis, as well as Agora, the Library of Celsus, the Great Theater, Double Church, Arcadian Way and Gate of Magnesia.
The tour continues on with a visit to the Virgin Mary’s last abode at Mount Solmissos before a delicious lunch at Selçuk. You will then discover the Isabey Mosque - one of the oldest and most impressive works of architectural art remaining from the Anatolian Beyliks - as well as visit the Ephesus Archaeological Museum.
Finally, you will have the chance to explore the stunning Temple of Artemis, one of the “Seven Wonders of the Ancient World” before you return to Kuşadası for a night bus back to Istanbul.
